Resumo:
The industrial activity is inevitably associated with a certain degradation of the environmental quality, because is not possible to guarantee that a manufacturing process can be totally innocuous. The eco-efficiency concept is globally accepted as a philosophy of entreprise management, that encourages the companies to become more competitive, innovative and environmentally responsible by promoting the link between its companies objectives for excellence and its objectives of environmental excellence issues. This link imposes the creation of an organizational methodology where the performance of the company is concordant with the sustainable development. The main propose of this project is to apply the concept of eco-efficiency to the particular case of the metallurgical and metal workshop industries through the development of the particular indicators needed and to produce a manual of procedures for implementation of the accurate solution.

A definio de teores mnimos de incorporao de biocombustveis, constitui objeto de discusso entre grupos pro-desenvolvimento e ambientalistas. Esses ltimos argumentam que as consequncias da utilizao desta fonte energtica ainda so desconhecidas. Alm disso, alegam que a produo de biocombustveis , em parte, responsvel pelo aumento no preo dos alimentos, encoraja a converso de florestas em monoculturas e conduz explorao de trabalhadores em pases em desenvolvimento (PEDs). Para responder dependncia energtica dos combustveis de origem fssil, e ajudar a reduzir as emisses de gases com efeito de estufa, sobretudo no sector dos transportes, o biodiesel produzido a partir de leos alimentares usados tm sido apontado como uma soluo verde capaz de minimizar o problema das alteraes climticas e valorizar um resduo, e simultaneamente conferir ao setor energtico um pouco mais de independncia. De forma a desmistificar e clarificar um pouco estas premissas, a presente dissertao pretende fazer um estudo de avaliao do impacto da utilizao do biodiesel, nomeadamente no que diz respeito s emisses gasosas. Posteriormente realizou-se, tomando como referncia uma pequena frota industrial existente, uma anlise comparativa dos consumos e emisses dos principais poluentes decorrentes da utilizao do biodiesel em diferentes percentagens de incorporao no gasleo, comparativamente ao gasleo puro. O trabalho culmina com uma abordagem tcnica sobre o comportamento de um veculo equipado com um motor de ignio por compresso, utilizando como biocombustvel o biodiesel.

This article presents a framework to an Industrial Engineering and Management Science course from School of Management and Industrial Studies using Autonomous Ground Vehicles (AGV) to supply materials to a production line as an experimental setup for the students to acquire knowledge in the production robotics area. The students must be capable to understand and put into good use several concepts that will be of utmost importance in their professional life such as critical decisions regarding the study, development and implementation of a production line. The main focus is a production line using AGVs, where the students are required to address several topics such as: sensors actuators, controllers and an high level management and optimization software. The presented framework brings to the robotics teaching community methodologies that allow students from different backgrounds, that normally dont experiment with the robotics concepts in practice due to the big gap between theory and practice, to go straight to making robotics. Our aim was to suppress the minimum start point level thus allowing any student to fully experience robotics with little background knowledge.
