Since collaborative networked organisations are usually formed by independent and heterogeneous entities, it is natural that each member holds his own set of values, and that conflicts among partners might emerge because of some misalignment of values. In contrast, it is often stated in literature that the alignment between the value systems of members involved in collaborative processes is a prerequisite for successful co-working. As a result, the issue of core value alignment in collaborative networks started to attract attention. However, methods to analyse such alignment are lacking mainly because the concept of 'alignment' in this context is still ill defined and shows a multifaceted nature. As a contribution to the area, this article introduces an approach based on causal models and graph theory for the analysis of core value alignment in collaborative networks. The potential application of the approach is then discussed in the virtual organisations' breeding environment context.

Solution enthalpies of 1,4-dioxane have been obtained in 15 protic and aprotic solvents at 298.15 K. Breaking the overall process through the use of Solomonov's methodology the cavity term was calculated and interaction enthalpies (Delta H-int) were determined. Main factors involved in the interaction enthalpy have been identified and quantified using a QSPR approach based on the TAKA model equation. The relevant descriptors were found to be pi* and beta, which showed, respectively, exothermic and endothermic contributions. The magnitude of pi* coefficient points toward non-specific solute-solvent interactions playing a major role in the solution process. The positive value of the beta coefficient reflects the endothermic character of the solvents' hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) basicity contribution, indicating that solvent molecules engaged in hydrogen bonding preferentially interact with each other rather than with 1,4-dioxane. Purpose – Quantitative instruments to assess patient safety culture have been developed recently and a few review articles have been published. Measuring safety culture enables healthcare managers and staff to improve safety behaviours and outcomes for patients and staff. The study aims to determine the AHRQ Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSPSC) Portuguese version's validity and reliability. Design/methodology/approach – A missing-value analysis and item analysis was performed to identify problematic items. Reliability analysis, inter-item correlations and inter-scale correlations were done to check internal consistency, composite scores. Inter-correlations were examined to assess construct validity. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed to investigate the observed data's fit to the dimensional structure proposed in the AHRQ HSPSC Portuguese version. To analyse differences between hospitals concerning composites scores, an ANOVA analysis and multiple comparisons were done. Findings – Eight of 12 dimensions had Cronbach's alphas higher than 0.7. The instrument as a whole achieved a high Cronbach's alpha (0.91). Inter-correlations showed that there is no dimension with redundant items, however dimension 10 increased its internal consistency when one item is removed. Originality/value – This study is the first to evaluate an American patient safety culture survey using Portuguese data. The survey has satisfactory reliability and construct validity.

Nous présentons le suivi d’une cohorte d’élèves, de la grande section (troisième année de maternelle en France -5 ans) à la fin du CE1 (deuxième année de primaire –7/8 ans). La population est constituée d’un groupe contrôle et d’un groupe expérimental pratiquant des séances hebdomadaires d’écriture approchée, observées et filmées à différentes périodes de l’année (octobre, mars et juin). Dans notre contribution, nous analysons les séances filmées en fin de CP (première primaire), dans une perspective essentiellement comparatiste. L’objectif est de décrire la démarche didactique mise en œuvre par les enseignantes lors de séances d’enseignement de l’écriture. L'analyse des productions d'écrit et des verbalisations des élèves nous permet également d'évaluer ces démarches d’enseignement et de caractériser celle qui semble le plus propice au développement de compétences métalinguistiques des apprentis scripteurs

Introdução e Objetivos – Os campos eletromagnéticos estão presentes naturalmente no Universo. Há alguns anos, os valores referentes a campos eletromagnéticos eram relativamente constantes. Com o desenvolvimento da tecnologia, a exposição a novas fontes de radiação eletromagnética aumentou. Desta forma, é normal que a preocupação pública, principalmente sobre os potenciais riscos para a saúde provenientes dos campos eletromagnéticos, tenha aumentado. O objetivo deste trabalho foi conhecer e analisar a preocupação e a perceção dos indivíduos sobre a radiação eletromagnética, tendo por base que um dos principais fatores para a adoção de medidas de precaução é o modo como o risco é percecionado pelo indivíduo. Metodologia – Trata-se de um estudo do tipo descritivo, de natureza quantitativa. A amostra, composta por 320 indivíduos, é de natureza não probabilística de conveniência. Resultados – Verificou-se que os inquiridos se manifestam “pouco preocupados” relativamente à exposição aos campos eletromagnéticos, desconhecem as fontes emissoras de radiação eletromagnética presentes no seu quotidiano e não tomam precauções relativamente à exposição a campos eletromagnéticos. Conclusões – Os indivíduos mostram imaturidade conscienciosa em relação à problemática da radiação eletromagnética, em parte justificada pela ausência de mecanismos sensoriais que a permitam detetar. A aposta na educação e sensibilização pode garantir um futuro com melhor qualidade de vida. É importante reunir esforços de várias entidades (saúde, meios de comunicação social e educação). A escola, através das crianças e jovens, constitui um meio privilegiado para a transmissão de informação.

We numerically study a simple fluid composed of particles having a hard-core repulsion complemented by two patchy attractive sites on the particle poles. An appropriate choice of the patch angular width allows for the formation of ring structures which, at low temperatures and low densities, compete with the growth of linear aggregates. The simplicity of the model makes it possible to compare simulation results and theoretical predictions based on the Wertheim perturbation theory, specialized to the case in which ring formation is allowed. Such a comparison offers a unique framework for establishing the quality of the analytic predictions. We find that the Wertheim theory describes remarkably well the simulation results.

Solution enthalpies of 18-crown-6 have been obtained for a set of 14 protic and aprotic solvents at 298.15 K. The complementary use of Solomonov's methodology and a QSPR-based approach allowed the identification of the most significant solvent descriptors that model the interaction enthalpy contribution of the solution process (Delta H-int(A/S)). Results were compared with data previously obtained for 1,4-dioxane. Although the interaction enthalpies of 18-crown-6 correlate well with those of 1,4-dioxane, the magnitude of the most relevant parameters, pi* and beta, is almost three times higher for 18-crown-6. This is rationalized in terms of the impact of the solute's volume in the solution processes of both compounds. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
