Design of a laminated composite multi-cel structure subjected to torsion

Laminate composite multi-cell structures have to support both axial and shear stresses when sustaining variable twist. Thus the properties and design of the laminate may not be the most adequate at all cross-sections to support the torsion imposed on the cells. In this work, the effect of some material and geometric parameters on the optimal mechanical behaviour of a multi-cell composite laminate structure is studied when torsion is present. A particle swarm optimization technique is used to maximize the multi-cell structure torsion constant that can be used to obtain the angle of twist of the composite laminate profile.

Um olhar sobre a música produzida na ESML para clarinete solo e clarinete e eletrónica

O presente Projeto Artístico propõe como principal objetivo a divulgação de obras para clarinete solo e para clarinete e eletrónica produzidas no seio das classes de clarinete e composição da Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. A preparação e montagem da obra de Edward Luiz Ayres d’Abreu, aqui realizada em estreia absoluta, pretende manter viva a continuidade de produção artística desta instituição a todos os níveis, neste caso, entre dois estudantes. Neste relatório estão registados os benefícios alcançados com o trabalho de pesquisa relacionado com os aspectos biográficos dos compositores, o contexto da criação das obras, assim como a análise e apuramento de questões interpretativas pouco utilizadas na música convencional como por exemplo, as técnicas clarinetísticas contemporâneas (glissando, frulato, vibrato, som e voz, multifónicos, micro-tons), a prática de música com eletrónica, ou a experiência inovadora da recriação musical em palco de uma partitura gráfica.

A crise e uma crise na vida de uma atriz: uma análise do ator segundo S. Kierkegaard: dissertação

A partir do texto de S. Kierkegaard A Crise e uma Crise na vida de uma Atriz, faremos uma análise do que está em causa no trabalho de um ator e no teatro. Começaremos esta investigação por uma descrição e análise das características fundamentais que constituem uma jovem atriz de dezoito anos, para, através de uma comparação desses termos com uma análise do que constitui o teatro, mostrarmos como essa atriz ainda não está na posse do que é essencial no trabalho de um ator. Depois analisaremos então o que é preciso para se ser essencialmente um ator e veremos como o texto de Kierkegaard tem na sua base uma tensão edificante que utiliza o ator como símbolo do que deve ser a vida.

Complete synchronization and delayed synchronization in couplings

We consider a general coupling of two identical chaotic dynamical systems, and we obtain the conditions for synchronization. We consider two types of synchronization: complete synchronization and delayed synchronization. Then, we consider four different couplings having different behaviors regarding their ability to synchronize either completely or with delay: Symmetric Linear Coupled System, Commanded Linear Coupled System, Commanded Coupled System with delay and symmetric coupled system with delay. The values of the coupling strength for which a coupling synchronizes define its Window of synchronization. We obtain analytically the Windows of complete synchronization, and we apply it for the considered couplings that admit complete synchronization. We also obtain analytically the Window of chaotic delayed synchronization for the only considered coupling that admits a chaotic delayed synchronization, the commanded coupled system with delay. At last, we use four different free chaotic dynamics (based in tent map, logistic map, three-piecewise linear map and cubic-like map) in order to observe numerically the analytically predicted windows.

FPGA-based architecture for hyperspectral unmixing

This paper proposes an FPGA-based architecture for onboard hyperspectral unmixing. This method based on the Vertex Component Analysis (VCA) has several advantages, namely it is unsupervised, fully automatic, and it works without dimensionality reduction (DR) pre-processing step. The architecture has been designed for a low cost Xilinx Zynq board with a Zynq-7020 SoC FPGA based on the Artix-7 FPGA programmable logic and tested using real hyperspectral datasets. Experimental results indicate that the proposed implementation can achieve real-time processing, while maintaining the methods accuracy, which indicate the potential of the proposed platform to implement high-performance, low cost embedded systems.
