Traditionally Italian universities have trained researchers and professionals in conservation: archaeologists, art historians and architects. It is only with the reform of the universities, from 1999, that the teaching of museology and museography have also been expanded.Italian museums are for the most part public museums, depending on local bodies or the national ministry; they lack autonomy and do not possess specific professional figures. The task of conservation has predominated over the other roles of museums, but with the reform of the conservation law in 2004 the definition of „museum‟ has been introduced in Italy as well, and regulations regarding the development of heritage have been issued; in addition the Regions have also taken on a more active role for museums belonging to local bodies and for the development of their territory.Museum professions are not officially recognised, but the museum community, through the various associations and ICOM Italia, has put together a document to act as a general reference, the National Charter of Museum Professions, which has been followed by the Manual of Museum Professions in Europe. Now there is a need to plan the content and outlines ofvocational training courses for museum professionals, together withthe universities, the regions and the museums themselves, alongwith the associations and ICOM – ICTOP, utilising the mostinnovative Master‟s courses which offer an interdisciplinaryapproach, a methodology which combines theory and practice, andan element of hands-on experimentation in museums, or withmuseums.

Verdadeira viagem iniciática, o poema surrealista de António Maria Lisboa, «Isto ontem único», é também o desejo de integração cósmica do Homem através do diálogo com a Mulher, que, pela sua capacidade unificadora, o conduz ao espaço da unidade perdida. Feita num contexto de maravilhoso e feérico, é a navegação pelas águas da escrita, a “via do conhecimento sbio”, no dizer do próprio Poeta. Inside the stones of its most famous buildings, Évora keeps mysteries and secrets which constitute the most hidden side of its cultural identity. A World Heritage site, this town seems to preserve, in its medieval walls, a precious knowledge of the most universal and ancient human emotion: fear. Trying to transcend many of its past and future fears, some of its historical monuments in Gothic style were erected against the fear of death, the most terrible of all fears, which the famous inscription, in the Bones Chapel of the Church of So Francisco, insistently reminds us, through the most disturbing words: “Nós ossos que aqui estamos pelos vossos esperamos. If the first inquisitors worked in central Europe (Germany, northern Italy, eastern France), later the centres of the Inquisition were established in the Mediterranean regions, especially southern France, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. Consequently, the roots of fear in Évora are common to other towns, where the Inquisition developed a culture of fear, through which we can penetrate into the dark side of the Mediterranean, where people were subjected to the same terrifying methods of persecution and torture. This common geographical and historical context was not ignored by one of the most famous masters of American gothic fiction, Edgar Allan Poe. Through the pages of The Pit and the Pendulum, readers get precise images of the fearful instruments of terror that were able to produce the legend that has made the first grand inquisitor, Tomas de Torquemada, a symbol of ultimate cruelty, bigotry, intolerance, and religious fanaticism, which unfortunately are still the source of our present fears in a time when religious beliefs can be used again as a motif of war and destruction. As Krishnamurti once suggested, only a fundamental realization of the root of all fear can free our minds.

RESUMO:Este trabalho teve como objetivo identificar as Representações Sociais dos jovens do Ensino Médio sobre a Violência Doméstica Contra a Mulher. A metodologia deste estudo investigativo foi pautada sobre os pilares da pesquisa qualitativa de caráter exploratório e descritivo. A primeira srie do ensino médio, de duas escolas localizadas no centro da cidade de João Pessoa, uma da instância pública estadual e outra de capital privado, constituiu o universo da pesquisa. Os sujeitos 12 meninos e 12 meninas abrangeram a faixa etária entre 14 e 20 anos de idade. O marco teórico foi sistematizado de forma a atender os questionamentos pertinentes à pesquisa e composto de estudiosos e pesquisadores nas áreas das Representações Sociais, da Violência Doméstica Contra a Mulher e sobre a Lei Maria da Penha. O grupo focal, a entrevista semi-estruturada e a análise de conteúdo foram os instrumentos utilizados para a coleta e análise dos dados recolhidos. As informações e dados coletados foram organizados de acordo com as técnicas de grupo realizadas nas oficinas de ideias dos dois encontros do grupo focal e as entrevistas individuais. A partir da análise dos resultados verificou-se nas representações sociais dos jovens da 1ª srie do ensino médio sobre a violência doméstica contra a mulher que eles têm consciência da gravidade social que esta conduta delitiva representa. Mostram estar cientes das causas e consequências deste tipo de violência, sabendo também apontar medidas preventivas em âmbito escolar e social de um modo geral além de saber atribuir competências a órgãos públicos nesta tarefa. ABSTRACT: This work was developed to identify the Social Representations of young high school students about domestic violence against women. The methodology of this investigative study was based on qualitative research pillars of exploratory and descriptive kind. The first year of high school, from two schools located in the centre of João Pessoa city, one public and another private composed the search universe. The subjects were 12 boys and 12 girls from the age of 14 to 20. The theoretical mark was systematized to meet relevance to research inquiries and was composed by scholars and researchers in the areas of Social Representations Theory, Domestic Violence Against Women and Maria da Penha Law. Focus group, semi-structured interview and analysis content were instruments used for compilation and analysis of data collected. The information and data collected have been organized according to techniques of group performed in the workshops of ideas during the two focal group meetings and individual interviews. Based on the analysis of results found through Social Representations Theory in young people of 1st grade high school about domestic violence against women, they are aware of the social gravity that this delictive conduct represents, demonstrate to be conscious of causes and consequences of this kind of violence and make out preventive measures in scholastic and social reach in a general view, besides the attribution of skills to public agencies concerning this task.
