The possibility of creating a European Company is a reality about ten years. However, there are issues related to the determination of the law applicable to companies of national law with several years of discussion. It is this link between companies under national law of many Member States of the European Union and the possibility of creating a European company which denotes the importance of determining the seat of commercial companies in defining the law applicable to societas europaea; Are we facing an endless web of corporate seats.

LCC Market Development - In 1996 low cost airlines (LCCs) accounted for only 1.4% of intra-European Union capacity. By the end of 2002, low cost airlines had captured 12% of all intra-EU capacity - Currently LCCs have a 30% market share of scheduled European point-to-point passengers. According to AEA forecasts, the LC market is expected to increase to 43% of European traffic by 2011. - In 2006 140 million passengers were carried by LCCs. - Low-fare airlines have increased their presence from 13% of city pairs in 2003 to 26% in 2007. 96% of new city-pairs between 2005 and 2007 were added by LCCs. - The United Kingdom still sees the highest number of low-cost flights, followed by Spain, which has been making up a lot of ground over the last year. This is followed by Italy and Germany with slightly fewer flights. These four countries contribute to roughly three quarters of low-cost departures. France is fifth in this list with only 5% of LC flights. - easyJet and Ryanair continue to be the biggest players in the European LCC market accounting for about 40% of all LCC capacity. The top two are followed by Airberlin, which contributes another 10% leaving three carriers in control of half the European low-cost market.

Os valores de vida são um assunto cada vez mais investigado, dado assumirem influência nas atitudes e comportamentos em contexto laboral. As consequências do burnout refletem impactos marcantes quer na pessoa quer na organização. Assim, este estudo procurou identificar os valores cristalizados na função de bombeiro, uma das mais visadas pelo burnout, com o propósito de compreender em que medida podem contribuir para neutralizar e/ou atenuar os riscos psicossociais, em sede daquela síndrome, e desta forma gerar condições de defesa em termos profissionais e pessoais. O estudo, com aplicação do Maslash Burnout Inventory (MBI) e do Life Values Inventory (LVI), foi concretizado na Companhia de Bombeiros Sapadores da Câmara Municipal de Coimbra numa amostra de 84 bombeiros. Os principais resultados foram níveis baixos nas dimensões Exaustão Emocional e Despersonalização e níveis moderados na dimensão Realização Profissional, o que veio confirmar a literatura nomeadamente no que refere à Síndrome de Burnout neste tipo de amostra. Os resultados apontam para uma relação condicionante entre os valores de vida e o burnout.
