A Celulite: Caracterização Funcional e Revisão dos Principais Compostos Utilizados na Abordagem Cosmetológica

Nas últimas décadas tem-se acentuado a preocupação com a boa aparência física e, consequentemente, tem aumentado a procura por parte dos consumidores de soluções cosmetológicas para as disfunções cutâneas mais comuns. Um exemplo dessas disfunções é a celulite, que afecta sobretudo as mulheres e que é consequência não só do excesso de peso, mas também de desequilíbrios hormonais. Esta procura incentivou a indústria a desenvolver múltiplas formulações, recorrendo a diferentes formas galénicas e a variadas substâncias cosmetologicamente activas. No entanto, apesar deste esforço, a maioria das alternativas disponíveis ainda possui uma eficácia reduzida. Neste artigo são descritas as alterações sobre as camadas dérmica e hipodérmica características desta disfunção, bem como as principais classes de substâncias cosmetologicamente activas incluídas nas formulações com acção anti-celulítica.

Historical Inevitability

What interests me more here is the so-called Historical Inevitability. It is a concept intimately linked with Human Choice and Freedom. There is a long history of debate around it among the western thinkers. The protestant thinkers, and particularly its Calvinist brand laid much emphasis upon predestination. The modern thinkers, freed from the theological trappings, questioned the Church imposed limitations to the capacity of human reasoning. The progress of science and technologies supported by it through the Industrial Revolution and thereafter seemed to endorse this new self-confidence. However, the miseries brought upon mankind by regional and world wars fuelled by the same technologies have made mankind wary of its faith upon scientific progress. The promises of modernization have left the greater part of mankind without its benefits, and even the rest of mankind is unsure of living in a safe and uncontaminated environment.

Goa: A history of many liberations

The Portuguese will not to be the last in the series of foreigners who sought to make Goa their home. The developments of the past fifty years need to be observed and analysed to understand the trend that will make the so-called «post-liberation» history of Goa. Goa’s history should be more dispassionately viewed as made up of many «liberations», and more may follow.
