In this work we show the most important high medieval pottery context from the Tolmo of Minateda (Hellín, Albacete) based on their composition and stratified sequence. We establish three chronological horizons based on the continuous stratified sequence between the VII and IX century: the first horizon, that we consider visigothic period, with a dated between the second half of the VII century, and maybe, the first quarter of the VIII century; the second horizon, which is dated between the middle and the end of the VIII century being of earlier emiral period chronology, even though the morphology of this kind of productions is closer to the visigothic period ones; and the third horizon that dated on the IX century, in the same line of the emiral period pottery repertories which are documented in the Tudmir zone and some places of the east of Andalucia.

The “El Hondo Nature Park” is mainly composed of a series of irrigation channels and water reservoirs, subjected to various regimes of management as well as reed and vegetation control, thus creating a great variety of habitats and situations. To determine the influence of these habitats and management regimes on the local bird community, a set of characteristics of these channels and their surrounding area were analysed with a Correspondence Analysis (CA). The degree of reed development in channels and the presence in the surroundings of orchards and other reed formations were the most decisive factors to explain the probability of occurrence of reed birds and waterbirds, as well as bird species richness and abundance. Other bird species were not directly influenced by channel variables, but only by those of surrounding land uses.

European societies are undergoing deep changes as a result of globalization and the international financial crisis that began in 2007. These changes affect the class structure to the extent that these societies suffer an impact on the occupational structure and consume pattern. From the data of Eurobarometer we studied the state of social mobility in the European Union. Comparing the subjective status between 2009 and 2012, we observed divergent movements in European societies. Some societies experimented upward mobility while others just the opposite. We conclude that exists an increasing gap between European societies. To consider the effects of these changes on the status structures a structural model has been tested, exploring the relationship between social class, status and power in European societies. We conclude a statistically significant effect of social class and status on the consciousness perceived to possess more or less power. Two dimensions measure power: “political alienation” and “economic alienation”.

This text reflects on the experiences of women who lived in exile led by the Spanish Civil War and Franco’s dictatorship to France and Argentina, countries where Spanish communities residing abroad were more numerous. The differences in personal backgrounds and political contexts in the host societies, or the constant arrival of new migrants and exiled not prevent some common elements point to the Spanish women exiles: their role in the processes of cultural transfer –with the maintenance of cultural traits and Spanish or regional identity and the incorporation of new elements of the host country- as well as a political militancy with important international contacts, all of which strengthened transnational identities.

This paper shows the increasing trend of Spanish young people towards non-conventional mechanisms of political expression, in a crisis context which has reduced its reliance on traditional political actors. As an alternative to bipartisanship, political participation moves towards increased interest and attention to new players, such as emergent political parties. Using a covariance structural model, factors such as political activism, awareness and understanding of country problems, and trust in the political system, are explored in order to explain an electoral behavior that is undergoing deep changes.

The crisis affecting European Union, and especially Mediterranean countries, is both an economic and a political crisis. In a broad sense, we can look at the crisis as the result of an internal crisis of the neoliberal model, exacerbating the perceived subordination of politics to the economy, and therefore the deficit of legitimacy and involvement that characterizes both European and national institutions. The decline in support for traditional political organizations and reduction of conventional political participation is accompanied by a process of reinvention of politics, which takes form in grass-root, non conventional participation. New political actors challenge economic and political institution and claim for a renewal of democracy and for a new relation between economy and politics. The article, after comparing steps and dimension of crisis, explores the characteristics of anti- austerity movements in Spain and in Italy, analyzing differences and similarities. Finally, we locate the movilization occurred in these two countries within the context of the global cycles of protest.
