Recent world events aside, downward trends in donating behaviour in Australia have increased the need for research into the factors that inhibit and encourage charitable giving. A revised Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) model was used to determine the influence of attitudes, norms (injunctive, descriptive, and moral norms), perceived behavioural control (PBC), and past behaviour (PB) on intentions to donate money to charities and community service organisations. Respondents (N=186) completed a questionnaire assessing the constructs of the revised TPB model. Four weeks later, self-reported donating behaviour was assessed (n=65). Results showed support for the revised TPB model. Attitudes, PBC, injunctive norms, moral norms, and PB all predicted donating intentions. Descriptive norms did not predict intentions. Intention was the only significant predictor of selfreported behaviour four weeks later, with neither PBC nor PB having a direct effect on behaviour. Theoretical and applied implications of the results are discussed.

Anxiety disorders are one of the most common psychiatric complaints across aU age cohorts, including older adults over age 65 (Regier et al., 1988; Regier, Narrow & Rae, 1990). Despite being a common complaint among older adults, anxiety remains underreported by patients and under diagnosed by health professionals (Stanley & Beck, 2000). Anxiety disorders have been less well studied in older adults than depression, both in terms of the assessment as well as treatment. While several anxiet)' inventories have normative data available for older populations, few anxiet)' measures have been specifically designed to be used with older populations. The primar)' aim of this pilot project was to evaluate the utility of a new anxiety screen specifically designed for older adults, the Geriatric Anxiet)' Inventor)' (GAI) on an older cohort with mild cognitive deficits.

This Study examined the muldlevel reladonships among negadve affect Behavioural Inhibidon System (BIS) Sensidvit)' and performance. It also invesdgated whether the reladonship among these variables changed across pracdce. Pardcipants performed muldple trials of a simulated air traffic control task, A single measure of BIS was taken before pracdce, while negadve affect and performance were measured at repeated intervals. As expected, negadve affect was detrimental to performance at both a between-person and withinperson level, BIS was also found to be detrimental to performance. Contrary' to expectadons, the reladonship between BIS and performance was not mediated by overall levels of negadve affect. As predicted, the effects of overall levels of negadve affect and BIS strengthened across pracdce as pardcipants gained task knowledge and skill. The findings of this study are interpreted using resource allocadon theor}' and the implicadons for skiU acquisidon discussed.
