Voltammetry is reported for chlorine, Cl-2, dissolved in various room temperature ionic liquids using platinum microdisk electrodes. A single reductive voltammetric wave is seen and attributed to the two-electron reduction of chlorine to chloride. Studies of the effect of voltage scan rate reveal uniquely unusual behavior in which the magnitude of the currents decrease with increasing scan rates. A model for this is proposed and shown to indicate the presence of strongly adsorbed species in the electrode reaction mechanism, most likely chlorine atoms, Cl*((ads)).

The flexible-price two-country monetary model is extended to include a consumption externality with habit persistence. Two methodologies are employed to explore this model's ability to generate volatile and persistent exchange rates. In the first, actual data is used for the exogenous driving processes. In the second, the model is simulated using estimated forcing processes. The theory, in both cases, is capable of explaining the high volatility and persistence of real and nominal exchange rates as well as the high correlation between real and nominal rates. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. In this paper, we present an inertial-sensor-based monitoring system for measuring the movement of human upper limbs. Two wearable inertial sensors are placed near the wrist and elbow joints, respectively. The measurement drift in segment orientation is dramatically reduced after a Kalman filter is applied to estimate inclinations using accelerations and turning rates from gyroscopes. Using premeasured lengths of the upper and lower arms, we compute the position of the wrist and elbow joints via a proposed kinematic model. Experimental results demonstrate that this new motion capture system, in comparison to an optical motion tracker, possesses an RMS position error of less than 0.009 m, with a drift of less than 0.005 ms-1 in five daily activities. In addition, the RMS angle error is less than 3??. This indicates that the proposed approach has performed well in terms of accuracy and reliability.

Aims.
In this paper we report calculations for energy levels, radiative rates, and electron impact excitation rates for transitions in O vii.
Methods.
The grasp (general-purpose relativistic atomic structure package) is adopted for calculating energy levels and radiative
rates. For determining the collision strengths and subsequently the excitation rates, the Dirac atomic R-matrix code (darc) and the
flexible atomic code (fac) are used.
Results.
Oscillator strengths, radiative rates, and line strengths are reported for all E1, E2, M1, and M2 transitions among the lowest
49 levels of O vii. Collision strengths have been averaged over a Maxwellian velocity distribution, and the resulting effective collision
strengths are reported over a wide temperature range below 2 × 106 K. Additionally, lifetimes are also listed for all levels.

Aims. In this paper we report on calculations for energy levels, radiative rates, collision strengths, and effective collision strengths for transitions among the lowest 25 levels of the n $\le$ 5 configurations of H-like Fe XXVI.
Methods. The general-purpose relativistic atomic structure package (GRASP) and Dirac atomic R-matrix code (DARC) are adopted for the calculations.
Results. Radiative rates, oscillator strengths, and line strengths are reported for all electric dipole (E1), magnetic dipole (M1), electric quadrupole (E2), and magnetic quadrupole (M2) transitions among the 25 levels. Furthermore, collision strengths and effective collision strengths are reported for all the 300 transitions among the above 25 levels over a wide energy (temperature) range up to 1500 Ryd (107.7 K). Comparisons are made with earlier available results and the accuracy of the data is assessed.

Invading and native species often interact directly, such as by predation, producing patterns of exclusion and coexistence. Less direct factors, such as interactions with the broader abiotic and biotic environment, may also contribute to such patterns, but these have received less recognition. In Northern Ireland, the North American Gammarus tigrinus has invaded freshwaters populated with the native Gammarus duebeni celticus, with intraguild predation between the two implicated in their relative success. However, these species also engage in day and night
