Jak sprostać wymaganiom neoliberalizmu w poradnictwie?

The article discusses changes which neoliberal ideologies have triggered in counselling. Meeting the demands of liberalism in counselling is a challenge both to organisation and to people. As far as people are concerned, the argument is driven by such questions as: What is the human being of this system (homo consultans) like? What is his world? How does he relate to this world? The questions about counselling as organisation pertain to its objectives and goals. In the industrial era, counselling goals were of paternalistic nature, but in economy-dominated neoliberalism they are certainly different. At a time of neoliberalism, the counsellor faces the following dilemmas: How to gain the client? How to satisfy the client? How to reconcile ethical demands inscribed in the counselling mission with the economic preoccupations of neo-positivist ideologies? In response, three kinds of counselling emerge. Rehabilitative counselling is organised for people severely damaged by adversity. Existential counselling is organised for people whose biographical trajectory is disturbed by temporary problems. Career counselling is organised for people who chose their life-paths in the neoliberal realities.

Polski dyskurs publiczny zdominowany jest przez kwestie lokalne. Artykuł podejmuje problem obecności problematyki globalnej i zagranicznej w polskim dyskursie publicznym w 2010 r. Przedstawia wybrane wątki analizy najbardziej poczytnych polskich tygodników opinii dwadzieścia lat po odzyskaniu niepodległości i pięć lat po wejściu do Unii Europejskiej: „Gościa Niedzielnego”, „Newsweek Polska”, „Polityki” i „Wprost”. Szczególny nacisk w artykule położono na wydobycie obecności w tym dyskursie głosów Innych i głosów Świadków. Poszczególne tygodniki różnią się istotnie pod tym względem. Tym, co zasługuje na szczególną uwagę, jest bardzo wyrazista obecność w trzech z czterech analizowanych tytułów głosów amerykańskich konserwatywnych i neokonserwatywnych publicystów i ekspertów.

W poszukiwaniu czasowników nieznanych lingwist(k)om

Abstract. The paper presents a list of 437 verbs which have not been recorded in lexicography. As the source of reference, the author consulted a spelling dictionary of the Polish language, Wielki słownik ortograficzny PWN, 2nd edition, 2006. The concept of this paper originated from the wish to satisfy the curiosity after reading Indeks neologizmów [Index of Neologisms] prepared by Krystyna Waszakowa in her work Przejawy internacjonalizacji w słowotwórstwie współczesnej polszczyzny [Word-formative internationalisation processes in modern Polish]. The index contains a list of nouns. Given that K. Waszakowa did not take verbs into account (there are far (?) fewer neo-verbs than neo-nouns), the author decided to find out whether it is true that the number of verb neologisms is so small that their philological analysis is pointless from the point of view of research, vocabulary registration, etc. If nouns, such as podczłowiek, miniokupacja, redefinicja, are of interest, why not record the prefixal constructions of the do-, z-, od-, na-, w-, wy-, za-, od-, nad- etc. -robić type? The analysis included randomly selected texts from the „Rzeczpospolita” daily (without any thorough preparation with respect to the content; the texts available were sequentially analysed until the satisfactory result was obtained). The texts under review included an incomplete (it is virtually impossible to determine completeness in this case) electronic archive from the years 1993–2006.
