This paper attempts to demonstrate the importance of the archaeological area of Copio, in province of Terni (Italy). Discovered for the first time in the 1980 by the local historian then mentioned in 2001 and in 2003 in two different archaeological publications, the site of Copio started to arouse interest for its position, lying on a hilltop above one of the most interesting pre-Roman necropolis of Umbria (Vallone di San Lorenzo). The link between the well-known necropolis and Copio is today well-accepted. The aim of this paper, based on a field-walking survey and the analisys of the archaeological finds, is to demonstrate the importance of this area during the pre-Roman period as a commercial bridgehead linked to Volsinii. Strategically lying only one km to east from the Tiber, it should have enjoyed this important and commercial path for the local trade moving goods in incoming and outcoming.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a systemic inflammatory disease, may induce pulmonary manifestations. We describe a case of longstanding RA presenting with eosinophilic pneumonia (EP). Rare case reports of tissue eosinophilia involving isolated organs in the setting of RA exist in the literature. It has been shown that the production of proinflammatory cytokines activates different cell group and can simultaneously play a role in RA and induce eosinophils infiltration in target tissue. An appropriate lowest possible dosage of steroid therapy is essential, whereas EP may be a rare subset of pulmonary involvement in RA.

We present the case of a 48-year-old man admitted to the critical care unit with atrial fibrillation, and acute heart and kidney failure accompanied by coagulopathy and an abnormal liver test. Initially diagnosed as a non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, re-evaluation of the case led to the consideration of severe sepsis. Q fever and leptospirosis were the most probable causes and empiric treatment was initiated. A complete recovery was achieved following treatment.
