A statement of facts, relative to the late proceedings in Harvard College, Cambridge, published by the students, Boston, April 10, 1807

Written in defense of the students’ actions, this publication sought to clear the students in the eyes of the public. They argued against the stern disciplinary stance of the Corporation, warning that "it is possible to kill the spirt by too rigorous an adherence to the letter of the law." According to the students, the cause of the upheaval was the "black, nauseous and intolerable" food served in Commons. Although they admitted that there were some students who "delight in mischief, anarchy, and confusion," they argued against the whole student body being charged for the crimes. Instead, they held that their offense, "retiring peaceably from the hall," should be punished, as usual, only by the "small fine of fifty or one hundred cents."

One folio-sized leaf containing a handwritten unidentified statement with calculations by year between June 1785 through January 1799. The entries include a yearly figure and "deduct" amounts, and amounts include cents suggesting the figures represent income or repair amounts, as opposed to rents.

One folio-sized leaf containing a handwritten copy of a transcribed extract from the Charter of 1650 regarding property tax exemption, and followed with accounting figures related to rents and valuations of College properties. The verso has a handwritten paragraph on the unconstitutionality of the taxation practices towards the College.

Statement of trips, 1795

Thirteen statements of trips of the Cyrus between April 23, 1795 and December 9, 1795 signed by Steward Caleb Gannett. The statements list the cords of wood added to the College's supply and the cords sold. The statements are on thirteen slips of paper of various sizes bound with thread.

John Lovell and Jeremiah Allen's statement regarding their visit to Nathan Prince, accompanying Edward Holyoke, July 12, 1742

Lovell and Allen accompanied Holyoke to Nathan Prince's lodging in Boston, to personally inform him that the Board of Overseers had voted for his dismissal and that his belongings had been removed from his chamber and were being stored in town until he chose to claim them.
