This slip of paper contains a request from Harvard College President John Leverett to the College Treasurer John White to pay John Rogers for his work as library keeper, pursuant to a Harvard Corporation vote on September 27, 1714.

Payment order to the Harvard College Treasurer, 1721 August 15

This slip of paper contains a request from President John Leverett to the College Treasurer John White to pay William Cook for his work as library keeper, pursuant to a Harvard Corporation vote on June 28, 1720.

Copy of the Harvard College Charter of 1650 annotated by John Leverett, undated

One leaf containing a two-page handwritten copy of the Harvard College Charter of 1650 with thirteen numbered annotations in President Leverett's hand. The annotations summarize the duties and powers assigned to the President in the Charter.

Contract for the great College, 6 May 1813

This is a contract signed between Loammi Baldwin, acting on behalf of the President and Fellows of Harvard College, and Josiah Moore, Esquire; John Walton, Housewright; Thomas Mason, Housewright; Samuel Mason, Housewright; and Joseph Holmes, Housewright, for the construction of University Hall. The agreement was witnessed by William Jenison and Josiah Nottage.

List of members of the Harvard College Class of 1797, created 1794 July 2

This document lists all the members of the Harvard College Class of 1797, including those who did not graduate. The list is roughly alphabetical, and each student's home town is listed alongside his name. There are also brief notes about one member of the class's nine-month suspension and several others' "taking up connections." The creator of this list is unknown.

Note from William Croswell to President Kirkland and the Corporation of Harvard College, 1817-1821

This folder contains six documents: three drafts of a brief March 10, 1817, note to Harvard President John Kirkland, with two of the drafts followed by an October 25, 1819, note to the Harvard College Corporation concerning Croswell's work on Harvard's Library Catalogue.

Handwritten copy of the 1734 College Laws transcribed by Meshech Weare (Harvard AB 1735) into a small notebook. The volume has a modern hardcover binding.

Leather hardcover volume containing a draft of the 1767 College Laws with portions crossed out and edited. The volume appears to be a working copy and includes page references in the front of the volume and additional notes inserted between pages.

Handwritten copy of the 1767 College laws, lacking its original covers. The volume is identified as "original" and a note with five changes to the Laws is bound at the front of the volume. A note accompanies the item: "Mr. Wigglesworth compliments to the Librarian ~ Tutors to desire they would meet with the Professor at his House at 12 o Clock. Monday 11 o clock."

Handwritten soft-cover copy of the 1767 College laws includes an ornately drawn title and was marked "Corrections, Additions, etc." The volume contains many emendations, some in the hand of Edward Wigglesworth.

The Laws of Harvard College, 1790

Bound pamphlet copy of the 1790 College laws printed by Samuel Hall, with annotations attributed to Christophe Ebeling. Handwritten inscription on cover: "For Professor Ebeling of Hamburgh from Joseph Willard President of Harvard College in Cambridge." A list of the "present executive officers of the College" for June 1794 is handwritten on the back inside cover, and the number of students in College are listed on the verso.

Bound pamphlet copy of the 1790 College laws printed by Samuel Hall with penciled annotations. Some pages are unattached.
