Grammatica literarum, syllabarum, verborum, & sententiarum, 1754

One-page handwritten list of 20 numbered theses in Latin presumed to be copied by Bela Lincoln. The document is signed "Lincoln 1754." The document title translates as "Grammar of letters, syllables, words, and sentences" and includes all of the nine theses listed in the "Theses Grammaticae" section of the 1754 Commencement broadside.

Student lecture notes of Benjamin Peirce, 1797-1798

This collection contains approximately twenty-three handwritten lecture summaries on six leaves made by Harvard undergraduate Benjamin Peirce between September 1797 and November 22, 1798. The summaries generally provide a few sentences describing the topic covered and primarily pertain to lectures on English grammar delivered by Eliphalet Pearson, the Hollis Professor of Hebrew and other Oriental Languages. There are also summaries for single lectures by David Tappan, the Hollis Professor Divinity; Samuel Webber, the Hollis Professor of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy; and John Snelling Popkin, the Greek Tutor from 1795 to 1798, and later the Eliot Professor of Greek Literature. There is also an undated summary of a lecture by Benjamin Waterhouse, the Hersey Professor of Theory and Practice of Physic.

Letters from Henry James Tudor to his brother, William Tudor,

One letter written to Tudor from Ligorno, Italy, criticizes the contents his correspondence as containing a "dull, vapid succession of sentences"; it also contains a message to their mother regarding his extensive travels in Europe. One letter written from New Orleans addresses their brother Frederic’s health, and his ice business in Cuba and the West Indies.

IV. Essay, undated

The undated handwritten essay begins, "I bles god that I have bene born under the gospel..." The essay is a two page personal exploration into Christianity and belief, including the sentences "I believe that there is one god in three persons father son and holy god. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of god and that he look upon him our nature and came into the world and dyed a miserable and cruel death for the sins of the elect."

A historical account of the Yerevan and Baghdad campaigns of Murād IV (r. 1623-1640). Composed in eight chapters. Book begins in 1044 AH [1635 AD] with the army setting out from Üsküdar and ends in 1049 AH [1640 AD] with the sultna's return to Istanbul after conclusion of Kasrışirin Treaty.
