Inscription on cornerstone of University Hall, 1 July 1813

Latin inscription carved into the cornerstone of University Hall laid into place by President John Kirkland on July 1, 1813.

This drawing includes the dimensions for the north and south stairs as well as for the spaces surrounding the staircases. Dimensions are also given for the windows and doors.

Contract for finding all materials and finishing interior of University Hall, signed copy, 1 February 1814

This is a contract signed between Loammi Baldwin, acting on behalf of the President and Fellows of Harvard College, and Josiah Moore, John Walton, Thomas Mason, Samuel Mason, and Joseph Holmes for completing the dining rooms and chapel of University Hall. The agreement was witnessed by Abraham Edwards and Thomas Edwards.

Vote of Harvard College, 9 May 1814

Signed by President John Kirkland, this Corporation vote acknowledges that Loammi Baldwin has given his notice that he can no longer oversee the construction of University Hall. The Corporation votes to pay him seven hundred dollars for his services.
