Mr. Harris, Mr. Browne, Stephen Greenleaf, Thomas Cushing, Mr. Orne, Mr. Agar, Mr. Marion, Mr. Fleet, Mr. Davies, Mr. Barrett, Dr. Grant, and possibly others. Entries include author, title, volume number, and occasionally format.

The books appear to have been purchased through, rather than by Mauduit, and they arrived in chests numbered 8, 9, and 11. Document also includes a list "of books in the box with 2 handles" whose donor was not known, and a list of "Dr. Benson's works sent by Mr. Richard Cooke."

C. Daily pocket journal of John and Hannah Winthrop, 1766-1779

Small printed daily pocket journal repurposed by both John and Hannah between 1766 and 1779 to record household accounts including livestock pasturing, income received, and payments to servants, merchants, and tradesmen for food, livestock, clothing, linen, etc. Many of the pages are unused. The January-April pages contain account records from 1766-1779, one page in June has a few accounting notes from September 1779, the rest of June-November is empty, and three books are listed on a November page. The last three calendar pages contain lists of books in Hannah's handwriting dated 1773 and August 1768.

II. Benjamin Wadsworth's Index to College Books 1-6, created ca. 1736

This paper-bound index was created by Benjamin Wadsworth, probably around 1736. Although most entries are in his hand, additional entries have been made in other, unidentified hands. It is arranged alphabetically, though the keywords used to alphabetize topics are not always logical or intuitive. Each entry lists the College Book and page number where information on the given topic can be found.

Bill of lading for shipment of four boxes of books, Oct. 20, 1764

This bill of lading is from Jasper Mauduit's shipment of books (his own gift and those bequeathed by Dr. Avery) to Andrew Oliver. The books were shipped from London to Boston via a ship called Hale Galley, under the direction of Captain Harris Hatch.

The "Gentlemen in New Engl[an]d" who financed this purchase of books were Misters Bradstreet, Barnard, Gardner, Sargent, Green, Abbot, Cook, Bromfield, Barrett, and Whitwell, as well as Secretary Oliver and Dr. Chauncy.
