Lists of books which came to the Library on May 10, 1769

Lists purchased books which arrived in two trunks, as well as books sent by Dr. Winthrop. All the books listed were entered into the catalog in October 1770.

Lists of books granted to Harvard by the Massachusetts General Court, ca. 1778

The books listed were sequestered from "Cox & Berry's Collection" (British booksellers Cox and Berry) and from Province House, home to the royal Governors of the Massachusetts Bay Colony prior to the American Revolution. To the left of each book's title is a number indicating how many copies of that title were received.

List of benefactors who contributed to replacement of books and philosophical apparatus, 1765

This document lists the names of subscribers who promised funds towards the rebuilding of the library and philosophical apparatus. Entries are divided among three columns, "Apparatus," "Library," and "At large," and include the donor's name and amount promised. Gifts to the library included actual books as well as funds for book purchases.

List of books believed to be bequest of Thomas Hubbard, undated

A pencilled annotation in the hand of John Langdon Sibley reads: "Is not this the bequest of Thos. Hubbard in 1773-4." Thomas Hubbard, who served as Harvard's treasurer and as Commissary General of the Province of Massachusetts Bay, died in 1773.
