The 1801 and 1808 documents in this folder were found with Kirkland's commonplace books during re-processing. It is unclear if they were originally a part of the book.

This commonplace book is written in tête-bêche, with texts beginning at both the front and back covers rotated 180⁰ from one another.

Kirkland appears to have edited pages 16 and 23 of this volume by pasting over the original pages with paper and adding new text.
