The verso of these minutes contains a list of various gifts and bequests to Harvard, including what was presumably their current value.

List of books received, Oct. 24, 1763 with 1764 addition

This document also lists volumes donated by a Mr. Bradstreet and Mr. Harris, as well as a list of "books saved [from the 1764 fire] by being borrowed" by individuals named Sewall, Parker, Cushing, Appleton, Brigden, Marsh, Cooke, Bowdoin, and Chardon.

Manuscript copy of Joseph Mayhew's complaints against Nathan Prince, Oct. 31, 1740 and Nov. 4, 1740

This is a manuscript copy of meeting minutes concerning fellow Tutor Joseph Mayhew's complaints against Nathan Prince. The minutes are written in a small paper-bound volume whose cover bears these inscriptions: "Oct. 31, 1740. Mr. Mayhew's complaint vs. Mr. Prince to the President and Tutors, Recd 14 Sept. 1741 of a Freshman, seal'd up;" "Acco of Mr. Mayhew's complaint of Mr. Prince contained in the Pres't & Tut's Book;" and "To the Honble Mr. Foxcroft, Chairman of the Committee of the Honble & Revd. the Overseers of Harvard College in Cambridge." Among other complaints, Mayhew was upset that Prince had called him "a Rascall & a rascally Fellow." The minutes also indicate that Prince left two meetings of the President and Tutors without permission, in spite of President Holyoke's having entreated him "Won't you stay?"

List of Dr. Avery's books donated to Harvard by Jasper Mauduit, Oct. 5, 1764

"Dr. Avery" is Benjamin Avery, chairman of the British Committee of Protestant Dissenters, who died in 1764. Mauduit took responsibility for shipping the books which Avery had bequeathed to Harvard.

Letter from Jasper Mauduit to Andrew Oliver, Oct. 10, 1764

In this letter, Mauduit informs Oliver that he is preparing to ship several cases of books to Harvard, and that they will contain books from the estate of Dr. Avery and from Mauduit himself. He enclosed lists of the books being shipped, and those lists (along with a bill of lading) are in the following folders.

Bill of lading for shipment of four boxes of books, Oct. 20, 1764

This bill of lading is from Jasper Mauduit's shipment of books (his own gift and those bequeathed by Dr. Avery) to Andrew Oliver. The books were shipped from London to Boston via a ship called Hale Galley, under the direction of Captain Harris Hatch.
