The entries include personal notes about travel, the weather, vegetable planting, and the birth of Winthrop's fourth son James (March 28) and taking him to wet nurses (March 31 and August 31). Throughout the volume there are entries about the smallpox epidemic including statistics about the disease's affect in Boston and family inoculations. At the end of the volume, there is a bill of mortality for Charlestown for 1752 with a chart of deaths according to age ranges.

The only handwritten entries are on the December page: "Buried in Boston 418 W 63 B in all 481 / Baptized 396," and a note on the April page of the birth of Winthrop's fifth son Adam on April 19th.

There are a few handwritten entries including a note of the Boston and Charlestown's burials and baptisms and the number of whites to blacks in Boston, a list of towns where Winthrop lodged on a trip to Philadelphia (April-May), and structural measurements relating to an inclination of Old Stoughton College (September 20).

Almanac containing two laid-in leaves and calendar pages with sporadic annotations of measurements, on the May page an annotation listing towns where Winthrop lodged. The first laid-in leaf has a short entry with structural measurements relating to an inclination of Old Stoughton College (January 21), and the second laid-in leaf has entries including notes on deaths in the community, the weather, an outbreak of dysentery (September 4), and the raising of a new Cambridge meeting house (November 12-17).

The volume also contains a laid-in leaf that includes personal entries noting deaths in the community, the cancellation of Harvard's Commencement due to a drought and the presence of the French fleet at Louisbourg (July 13), the weights of the Winthrop family (January 1), and a note of Charlestown burials and baptisms for the year.
