ABSTRACT; This work approaches the demands/expectations of families with children with chronic diseases face to health services, as well as the identification of the aspects to be improved. In this process, it was felt the need to understand how families deal with the problem of the chronic condition, not only in the institutional but also in the family point of view. The main goal of this research is to characterize institutional answers face to families with children with chronic conditions, in the Unit of Health of Almada, Seixal and Sesimbra. The methodological approach is based on the semi-structured interview to family members and health professionals.

É de difícil tratamento e requer um esforço multidisciplinar; ABSTRACT: Small Animal Medicine This report is conducted under the context of the curricular internship course unit of integrated master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Évora under the supervision of Dr. Sónia Lucena and cosupervision of Dr. Ângela Martins. The first component refers to the assisted cases followed in Hospital Veterinário da Arrábida and Centro de Reabilitação Animal da Arrábida during the five months of the practice period. In the followed cases part it is explored briefly some clinical cases and procedures accompanied during that practice period. The second component consists of a monograph titled “Chronic pain management” accompanied with a description of a clinical case followed seen during the practice period. Chronic pain is considered a pathological pain, ceasing to be a defense mechanism of the body and to be considered a disease. It is difficult to treat and requires a multidisciplinary effort.

tWater use control methods and water resources planning are of high priority. In irrigated agriculture, theright way to save water is to increase water use efficiency through better management. The present workvalidates procedures and methodologies using remote sensing to determine the water availability in thesoil at each moment, giving the opportunity for the application of the water depth strictly necessaryto optimise crop growth (optimum irrigation timing and irrigation amount). The analysis is applied tothe Irrigation District of Divor, Évora, using 7 experimental plots, which are areas irrigated by centre-pivot systems, cultivated to maize. Data were determined from images of the cultivated surface obtainedby satellite and integrated with atmosphere and crop parameters to calculate biophysical indicatorsand indices of water stress in the vegetation—Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Kc, andKcb. Therefore, evapotranspiration (ETc) was estimated and used to calculate crop water requirement, together with the opportunity and the amount of irrigation water to allocate. Although remote sensingdata available from satellite imagery presented some practical constraints, the study could contribute tothe validation of a new methodology that can be used for irrigation management of a large irrigated area, easier and at lower costs than the traditional FAO recommended crop coefficients method. The remotesensing based methodology can also contribute to significant saves of irrigation water.

A photovoltaic cell is a component which converts light energy into electrical energy. Different environmental parameters and internal parameters have a great impact on the output of the photovoltaic cell. To identify its characteristics and estimate the output, the well known Shockley diode equation is used. This equation contains all the parameters, as one environmental and different internal. The properties of these parameters were studied and their sensitivity have been analyzed through the use of an error function; this error function allows the study of the behaviour of the parameters and their characteristics against the output of the photovoltaic cell through the analysis of its curves giving the sensitivity of the different parameters to the output of the photovoltaic cell. Using these results the impact of the parameters of the photovoltaic cell has been clearly identified. White noise is included both with the ideal values and the simulation and the ideal value is imposed to get the real time environment flavor. This work analyses both systems with and without white noise.
