Life at School and in the Family, which connections? ABSTRACT: The present study was carried out under the Master's Degree in Chemistry for Teaching, taught at the University of Évora under the theme "lmplementation of Simple Molecules in Medicine". The approach to this issue is due to an increasing need for teaching that motivates students and sharpen their senses for the study of science because, increasingly, young students show little motivation and passion for the study of science, both at secondary school and higher education terms. The aim is also trying to understand and explain the reason of their discouragement and try new approaches to issues that raise young in a better understanding of the importance of science and technology in everyday life for all of us in what concerns to our welfare and our health. ln the first part there is an overview of the major content areas to develop in the classroom. These contents support the study of xenon as an anesthetic and perfluorocarbons as blood substitutes. The second part includes the syllabus, following the methodologies and structure of the curriculum approved by the ME to the 12th grade and protocols of some activities for an experimental laboratory. These activities intend to stimulate curiosity and facilitate the consolidation of materials.

The interest in research on parents of children with severe developmental disorders has known different focuses of interest over time, from a more psychopathological approach, interested in describing the negative aspects of the impact of having a child with disabilities, to the study of coping strategies used to deal with the situation, and the study of the strength and resilience mobilized by these parents. The big change, however, is that the concern about parents is not only because of the child, but also for what happens in their own development processes. This developmental perspective is addressed here to the construction of the fundamental attachment between mother/father and the baby, how this bond is broken, and how it can be reconstructed when the child has a severe disability diagnosis. Only the resumption of parents’ developmental process will enable them to perform their parenting in an emotionally appropriate and consistent manner, based on adequate responsiveness in everyday life situations. This view allows to open new interdisciplinary challenges about how to work on early intervention in child development and to a comprehensive understanding of the family centered intervention.

ABSTRACT: This dissertation focuses on the perspectives of the principals/teachers of civic and moral education of the 6th and 7th classes o EPC’s on the reality on HIV/AIDS in schools, considering the representation that they have on this pathology. This study aims to understand the construction of responses to the phenomenon in the everyday life. It also aims to take a closer look at the representations of the actors on the interventions and the possibilities of improving the daily responses of the EPC's. Another aspect that was considered was of the society, the ministry and schools on the relevance of listening and nuances of schools in response to HIVIAIDS. Based on the fieldwork in the districts of Quelimane and Nicoadala, semi-structured interviews with school principals/ teachers were carried out as well as the collection of documents, bibliographies and the support of pertinent theories. According to this research we can conclude that besides the local actors' involvements in the prevention process of HIVIAIDS, there are lacks and needs on teaching training and on epidemics, on working conditions and a weak dialogue between Education and Health Ministries.
