Pyramided lines of "carioca" common bean and their reaction to Pseudocercospora griseola.

The present work aimed to characterize lines produced by the Breeding Program of Common Bean (PMGF) of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), called ?Ruda R3? and ?Pérola R1?, in reaction to different races of P. griseola.

Nutritional technological characterization and secondary metabolites in stored carioca bean cultivars.

The recommendation of bean cultivars and the use of appropriate storage techniques allow the quality characteristics of these grains to be preserved for human consumption. The aim of this study was to characterize the effects of storage on three cultivars of the common carioca bean in raw form and to determine the relationships between storage time and technological quality parameters involved in the darkening and hardening of grains, the chemical composition of the beans and the presence of secondary metabolites. The experiment followed a completely randomized design (CRD) with a full factorial scheme consisting of two factors: bean cultivars, with three levels and storage time, with five levels. The color parameters and the storage times significantly differed between the cultivars. The cooking time, when compared to the water absorption index, indicated that the cultivars had, on average, a high percentage of moisture (>95%) and an average cooking time of 17 min., this applies to the control, while values increase during the storage time. Storage under ambient conditions led to a reduction in grain brightness parameters, characterized by darkening and hardening; no reduction in protein and mineral content; and an increase in iron, phosphorous, tannin, and phytic acid contents at 180 days.

Agricultura familiar e turismo de base comunitária na Amazônia: o caso da Vila da Penha, município de Maracanã, PA.

A presente pesquisa teve como foco principal avaliar os limites e as possibilidades de trabalhar o turismo de base comunitária na comunidade tradicional Vila da Penha, no Município de Maracanã, Estado do Pará, e assim verificar o nível de organização social da comunidade. Esse modelo alternativo de turismo, quando bem planejado, pode fomentar o desenvolvimento local em uma comunidade, de forma que venha aproveitar os atrativos naturais e culturais do local, a geração de renda complementar, principalmente para aquelas envolvidas no projeto, e também a valorização de seus saberes tradicionais. Sendo assim, realizou-se levantamento bibliográfico em busca de referencial teórico sobre o turismo de base comunitária e também sobre trabalho em campo, para a realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas e aplicação de questionários com perguntas abertas e fechadas para a coleta de dados, para então finalizar a pesquisa com os devidos resultados.

Avaliação econômica da estação de monta em caprinos utilizando protocolo de sincronização do estro e ração flushing.

Resumo: O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar uma análise econômica do protocolo de sincronização do estro mais a ração flushing oferecida as cabras durante a estação de monta. Foram selecionadas 12 cabras da raça Saanen e um reprodutor, recebendo ração flushing. Utilizou-se esponjas análogas a progesterona, Prostaglandina e Gonadotrofina Coriônica Equina. O custo total foi de R$ 46, 17/animal. A utilização da sincronização torna-se uma medida viável economicamente quando comparada a monta natural. Abstract: The aim of the experimente was to realize na economic analysis of protocol synchronization of estrous and flushing ration offered to Saanen breed goats during station of sum. Twelve Saanen breed goats and onde billy-goat were used. Intravaginal sponges containing progesterone, Prostaglandin and Equine Corionic Gonadotroohin were used. The total costs were R$ 46,17/animal. The use of protocol of sychronization of estrous is more economically viable the sum natural.
