LA SOCIEDAD DE LA INFORMACIÓN Y LA ACCIÓN DEL MULTICULTURALISMO

No se puede hablar de la sociedad del siglo XXI sin relacionarla con el uso de la información y con el acceso social a las telecomunicaciones y la computación para responder a las demandas de los nuevos ciudadanos. En los países de la región latinoamericana, donde el acceso a la información y a las tecnológicas no es fácil, se requiere que esos elementos sean parte de las responsabilidades de los individuos y de los gobiernos para que se conformen las políticas y programas públicos y privados de educación, cultura y ciencia.

La identidad nacional en tiempos de globalización

The national identity is a historical and geographical process; it is also dynamic and it is constantly transforming, in other words it is: a subject of change. It is constructed by individuals and different social groups who are born or live in a territory with a homogenizing ideological discourse and a reproducer of an imaginary national and, moreover, the cultural influence is expressed by the interrelationships among other countries, which have been accelerated by the phenomenon of globalization. This last aspect has a profound impact not only in the economic field, but also when sharing information, ideas, values and behaviors that are assimilated by people through behaviors, symbols and meanings that are related to the imitation of foreign cultural models. But there is one point in common in the context of this essay and it is to understand that we are in an evolutionary, dynamic and complex process that is part of the socialization processes that link the daily practices of individuals, through the diversity and cultural exchange.

Conversation Circles as a Teaching Strategy: An Experience to Reflect on and Implement in Higher Education

The experience approached in this paper aims at reflecting, reasoning, planning and implementing the “Conversation Circles” as a teaching strategy in the PF-4237 course “Theory of Education: Multiculturalism and Education” of the Latin American Doctoral Program in Education, University of Costa Rica. This training experience, based on the communicative action theory, intended to integrate the assistance of the teacher, the confrontation to otherness and the building of knowledge, skills and social attitudes in higher education.

El régimen jurídico de la educación intercultural en España

ResumenEste artículo define los conceptos de multiculturalismo y de interculturalidad como el marco para la integración de inmigrantes dentro del ordenamiento jurídico español. La interculturalidad es una solución al multiculturalismo (existencia de varias culturas en el mismo territorio). La interculturalidad es entendida como diálogo entre las culturas en pie de igualdad (desde el punto de vista formal) y, por tanto, como un proceso bidireccional. Un instrumento esencial para la consolidación de la integración es la educación intercultural. El análisis de las normas españolas sobre la educación intercultural es el contenido de este trabajo.Palabras clave: interculturalidad, integración de inmigrantes, educación intercultural, España.AbstractThis article defines the multiculturalism and interculturality concepts as the framework for the integration of immigrants within the Spanish regulation. The interculturality is a solution to the multiculturalism (existence of several cultures in the same territory). The interculturality is understood like dialogue between the cultures equally (from the formal point of view), therefore, as a bidirectional process. An essential instrument for the consolidation of the integration is the intercultural education. The analysis of the Spanish laws on the intercultural education is the content of this work.Keywords: Interculturalism, integration of immigrants, intercultural education, Spain.
