In the structure of title compound [Rb2(C7H5N2O4)2(H2O)2]n the asymmetric unit comprises two independent and different seven-coordinate Rb centres, one RbO7, the other RbO6N, with both having irregular stereochemistry. The RbO7 coordination comprises bridging oxygen donors from two water molecules, three carboxylate groups, and a nitro group, with one doubly bridging. The RbO6N coordination comprises the two bridging water molecules, one monodentate amine N donor, one carboxyl O donor and three O donors from nitro groups (one from the chelate bridge). The extension of the dinuclear unit gives a three-dimensional polymeric structure which is stabilized by both intra- and intermolecular amine N-H...O and water O-H...O hydrogen bonds to carboxyl and water O-atom acceptors, as well as a number of inter-ring \p--\p interactions [minimum ring centroid separation, 3.364(2) \%A]. This complex is both isostructural with the analogous Cs -nitroanthranilate monohydrate complex.

Pooled serum samples collected from 8132 residents in 2002/03 and 2004/05 were analyzed to assess human polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) concentrations from specified strata of the Australian population. The strata were defined by age (0−4 years, 5−15 years, < 16 years, 16−30 years, 31−45 years, 46−60 years, and >60 years); region; and gender. For both time periods, infants and older children had substantially higher PBDE concentrations than adults. For samples collected in 2004/05, the mean ± standard deviation ΣPBDE (sum of the homologue groups for the mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, penta-, hexa-, hepta-, octa-, nona-, and deca-BDEs) concentrations for 0−4 and 5−15 years were 73 ± 7 and 29 ± 7 ng g−1 lipid, respectively, while for all adults >16 years, the mean concentration was lower at 18 ± 5 ng g−1 lipid. A similar trend was observed for the samples collected in 2002/03, with the mean ΣPBDE concentration for children <16 years being 28 ± 8 ng g−1 lipid and for the adults >16 years, 15 ± 5 ng g−1 lipid. No regional or gender specific differences were observed. Measured data were compared with a model that we developed to incorporate the primary known exposure pathways (food, air, dust, breast milk) and clearance (half-life) data. The model was used to predict PBDE concentration trends and indicated that the elevated concentrations in infants were primarily due to maternal transfer and breast milk consumption with inhalation and ingestion of dust making a comparatively lower contribution.

The electrical performance of indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass was improved by including a controlled layer of carbon nanotubes directly on top of the ITO film. Multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition, using ultra-thin Fe layers as catalyst. The process parameters (temperature, gas flow and duration) were carefully refined to obtain the appropriate size and density of MWCNTs with a minimum decrease of the light harvesting in the cell. When used as anodes for organic solar cells based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM), the MWCNT-enhanced electrodes are found to improve the charge carrier extraction from the photoactive blend, thanks to the additional percolation paths provided by the CNTs. The work function of as-modified ITO surfaces was measured by the Kelvin probe method to be 4.95 eV, resulting in an improved matching to the highest occupied molecular orbital level of the P3HT. This is in turn expected to increase the hole transport and collection at the anode, contributing to the significant increase of current density and open circuit voltage observed in test cells created with such MWCNT-enhanced electrodes.

This paper discusses documentary heritage collection enrichment programs run with community participation. Two library programs at the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) are explored as examples. The programs are the Flood and Cyclone Mosaic and Pitch in! The challenges for the implementation of such programs in Indonesia are also discussed in the last section of the paper. This paper provides better understanding of documentary heritage collection enrichment strategies conducted by a public library in Queensland, Australia. It is expected that this paper will inspire public libraries in Indonesia to maximise their documentary collection enrichment strategies with community participation. This paper can also help the National Library of Indonesia (PNRI) in designing their documentary heritage collections enrichment strategies in its role as the Web portal provider of the national documentary heritage repository. Tulisan ini membahas program pengayaan koleksi warisan dokumenter yang dilaksanakan dengan partisipasi masyarakat. Dua program perpustakaan di the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) dieksplorasi sebagai contoh.
