Join Angela Finn (PhD Candidate) for a look at iconic designers from the 1960s in relation to the development of fashion ‘minimalism’. In this, the 10th anniversary of the introduction of silicone hydrogel contact lenses onto the market, it is perhaps timely to attempt to reconcile the apparently disparate results from different authors in relation to the incidence of keratitis with silicone hydrogel lenses and indeed, with contact lenses in general. In attempting to understand the findings of these various studies, we propose that consideration be given to the competing effects of an improved physiological response due to increased corneal oxygenation with these lenses versus their mechanical impact...

Harmonising occupational health and safety regulation in Australia: The first report of the national OHS review

The Australian government had set up a major National Review into Model Occupational Health and Safety Laws (National OHS Review) to examine the Occupational health and safety (OHS) statutes in Australia to identify areas of best practice, common practice and inconsistency and to make recommendations for a model OHS Act. Links between unlicensed and unregistered driving: Literature review. Report to Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads

Vehicle registration represents an important component of the management of the road transport system in Queensland, with most vehicles required to be registered before they can be driven or parked on a public road (Department of Transport and Main Roads, 2010b). In addition to the collection of taxes for road construction and maintenance, the current registration system also: • Sets the safety standards required for vehicles to be allowed on public roads; • Allows driver behaviour to be managed by identifying vehicles, and the responsible owners of vehicles, for enforcement purposes; and • Facilitates the collection of insurance premiums for the Queensland Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance scheme.
