A novel ZVS auxiliary switch commutated variation for all DGDC converter topologies has been proposed in 2006. With proper designation of the circuit variables (throw current I and the pole voltage V), all these converters are seen to be governed by an identical set of equations. With idealized switches, the steady-state performance is obtainable in an analytical form. The conversion ratio of the converter topologies is obtained. A generalized equivalent circuit emerges for all these converters from the steady-state conversion ratio. It also provides a dynamic model as well. With these generalized steady-state equivalent circuits, small signal analysis of these converters may be carried out readily. It enables one to use the familiar state space averaged results of the standard PWM DGDC converters for the resonant counterparts. Th dc and ac models reveals that dc and low frequency behaviour of the proposed family of converters is similiar to that of its PWM parent

Inverters with high voltage conversion ratio are used in systems with sources such as batteries, photovoltaic (PV) modules or fuel cells. Transformers are often used in such inverters to provide the required voltage conversion ratio and isolation. In this paper, a compact high-frequency (HF) transformer interfaced AC link inverter with lossless snubber is discussed. A high performance synchronized modulation scheme is proposed for this inverter. This modulation addresses the issue of over-voltage spikes due to transformer leakage inductance and it is shown that the circuit can operate safely even when the turn-on delay, such as dead-time, is not used in the HF rectifier section. The problem of spurious turn-on in the HF inverter switches is also mitigated by the proposed modulation method. The circuit performance is validated experimentally with a $900W$ prototype inverter.

Preparation of Rb-beta -alumina was realized by the gel-to-crystallite conversion method. Reaction of hydrated aluminum hydroxide gel with RbOH in ethanol medium gave rise to the Rb+-inserted pseudoboehmite precursor under wet chemical conditions. The thermal decomposition of the precursor yielded Rb-beta -alumina. The Rb2O:Al2O3 ratio of monophasic Rb-beta -alumina ranged from 1:10 to 1:22. The extended stability in the compositional range is due to the fact that the conduction planes containing Rb+ and O2- ions can have lower occupancy of Rb+ ions for larger sized alkali ions, permitting the steric separation of the adjoining spinel blocks. High-resolution electron microscopy revealed that the decreasing occupancy of alkali ions in the conduction plane is balanced by changing widths of spinel blocks arising from the shift of tetrahedral Al3+ ions to octahedral sites and an accompanying increase in stacking defects. Coarse BO2·xH2O (2 < x < 80) gels, free of anion contaminants react with A(OH)2 under refluxing conditions at 70100°C giving rise to crystallites of single phased, nanometer size powders of ABO3 perovskites (A = Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg, Pb; B = Zr, Ti, Sn). Solid solutions of perovskites could be prepared from compositionally modified gels or mixtures of A(OH)2. Donor doped perovskites could also be prepared from the same method so that the products after processing are often semiconducting. Faster interfacial diffusion of A2+ ions into the gel generates the crystalline regions whose composition is controllable by the A/B ratio as well as the A(OH)2 concentration.
