利用Nd:YAG调Q单脉冲激光和自由脉冲激光对硬膜窄带干涉滤光片进行激光损伤阈值的测试,并且采用表面热透镜技术测量了滤光片的吸收率。实验发现:窄带干涉滤光片的吸收率和激光损伤阈值强烈依赖于辐照激光波长与窄带干涉滤光片通带的相对位置;在调Q单脉冲激光作用下,不同中心波长的滤光片损伤形貌存在明显的差别,而在自由脉冲激光作用下,各滤光片的损伤形貌则趋于相同.均表现为典型的热熔烧蚀破坏。根据实验结果,结合损伤形貌,通过驻波场理论对激光作用下滤光片内电场分布的分析与模拟.探讨了两种激光模式作用下滤光片的损伤特征和损

Crystallization is achieved in amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5 films upon irradiation with a single femtosecond laser pulse. Transmission electron microscopy images evidence the morphology of the crystallized spot which depends on the fluence of the ferntosecond laser pulse. Fine crystalline grains are induced at low fluence, and the coarse crystalline grains are obtained at high fluence. At the damage fluence, ablation of the films occurs. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. The morphology of materials resulting from laser irradiation of the single-layer and the multilayer amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5 films using 120 fs pulses at 800 nm was observed using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. For the single-layer film, the center of the irradiated spot is depression and the border is protrusion, however, for the multilayer film, the center morphology changes from a depression to a protrusion as the increase of the energy. The crystallization threshold fluence of the single-layer and the multilayer film is 22 and 23 mJ/cm(2), respectively. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Self-organized microgratings were induced in the bulk SrTiO3 crystal by readily scanning the laser focus in the direction perpendicular to the laser propagation axis. The groove orientations of those gratings could be controlled by changing the irradiation pulse number per unit scanning length, which could be implemented either through adjusting the scanning velocity at a fixed pulse repetition rate or through varying the pulse repetition rate at a fixed scanning velocity. This high-speed method for fabrication of microgratings will have many potential applications in the integration of micro-optical elements. The possible formation mechanism of the self-organized microgratings is also discussed. (C) 2007 Optical Society of America.

ZnO thin films were grown on single-crystal gamma-LiAlO2 (LAO) and sapphire (0001) substrate by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The structural, optical and electrical properties of ZnO films were investigated. The results show that LAO is more suitable for fabricating ZnO films than sapphire substrate and the highest-quality ZnO film was attained on LAO at the substrate temperature of 550 degrees C. However, when the substrate temperature rises to 700 degrees C, lithium would diffuse from the substrate (LAO) into ZnO film which makes ZnO film on LAO becomes polycrystalline without preferred orientation, the stress in ZnO film increases dominantly and the resistivity of the film decreases exponentially. The laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) and damage morphology of antireflection (AR) coatings on quartz and sapphire are investigated. A very interesting phenomena is found in the measurement. In the case of a single pulse laser, the LIDT of the AIR coatings on quartz is higher than that of sapphire. On the contrary, for a free-pulse laser, the LIDT of AIR coatings on sapphire is higher than that of quartz. (C) 2004 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers.

The laser-induced damage (LID) behavior of narrow-band interference filters was investigated with a Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm under single-pulse mode and free-running mode. The absorption measurement of such coatings was performed with surface thermal lensing (STL) technique. The damage morphologies under the two different laser modes were also studied in detail. It was found that all the filters exhibited a pass-band-center-dependent absorption and laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) behavior, but the damage morphologies were diverse. The explanation was given with the analysis of the electric field distribution and the operational behavior of the irradiation laser. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

We report the observation of intense spontaneous emission of green light from LiF:F-2:F-3(+) centers in active channel waveguides generated in lithium fluoride crystals by near-infrared femtosecond laser radiation. While irradiating the crystal at room temperature with 405 nm light from a laser diode, yellow and green emission was seen by the naked eye. Stripe waveguides were fabricated by translating the crystal along the irradiated laser pulse, and their guiding properties and fluorescence spectra at 540 nm demonstrated. This single-step process inducing a waveguide structure offers a good prospect for the development of a waveguide laser in bulk LiF crystals.

We propose a method of effectively extending the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) gain bandwidth in a single-mode optical fiber to reduce group-velocity-dispersion (GVD)-dependent pulse spread of SBS slow light. This can be done by overlapping doublet SBS gain spectra synthesized from a single pump laser. Numerical calculations are performed to verify our proposed method. We find that there exists the optimum spectral separation between two center frequencies of the doublet SBS gain spectrum with respect to the inherent spectral width of the pump laser, which makes it possible to effectively reduce the signal pulse broadening due to GVD. We show that the maximum time delay of the amplified signal pulse can be approximately two times longer than that by a previously reported method using a single broadband pump laser. 在单脉冲激波管上,研究了1,2-二氯乙烷的热裂解.实验的激波条件为:温度区间1020 K<T<1190 K, 压力: P=0.12 MPa,实验时间τ=0.5 ms;实验气体为1,2-二氯乙烷稀释于Ar气中(3.95 mmol/L).以4-甲基-1-环己烯作为对比速率法实验的内标物,用4-甲基-1-环己烯开环反应的速率常数k=1015.3exp(-33400/T) s-1,以及从其产物的浓度推定出实验温度.经激波加热后的实验气体的终产物用气相色谱分析出主要成分为C2H3Cl,指示出主要反应通道为β消去反应.如把所有产物C2H3Cl都归于β消去反应,则可推定出表观之反应速率常数k1a=5.0×1013exp(-30000/T) s-1.对于由C-Cl键断键反应引发的链反应的可能影响做了分析研究.用了一种简便分析可推知在实验的温度范围内的低端(1020 K)链反应的影响可以忽略,而在其高端(1190 K)链反应将给出10%的终产物C2H3Cl的附加浓度,获得真实的β消去反应速率常数则必须把这部分予以扣除.经过这样的校正之后,最后得到CH2ClCH2Clβ消去反应速率常数为k1c=2.3×1013exp(-29200/T) s-1.

Electron acceleration from the interaction of an intense short-pulse laser with low density plasma is considered. The relation between direct electron acceleration within the laser pulse and that in the wake is investigated analytically. The magnitude and location of the ponderomotive-force-caused charge separation field with respect to that of the pulse determine the relative effectiveness of the two acceleration mechanisms. It is shown that there is an optimum condition for acceleration in the wake. Electron acceleration within the pulse dominates as the pulse becomes sufficiently short, and the latter directly drives and even traps the electrons. The latter can reach ultrahigh energies and can be extracted by impinging the pulse on a solid target. (C) 2003 American Institute of Physics.

This paper reports self-organized nanostructures observed on the surface of ZnO crystal after irradiation by a focused beam of a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser with a repetition rate of 250 kHz. For a linearly polarized femtosecond laser, the periodic nanograting structure on the ablation crater surface was promoted. The period of self-organization structures is about 180 nm. The grating orientation is adjusted by the laser polarization direction. A long range Bragg-like grating is formed by moving the sample at a speed of 10 mu m/s. For a circularly polarized laser beam, uniform spherical nanoparticles were formed as a result of Coulomb explosion during the interaction of near-infrared laser with ZnO crystal.
