Two-dimensional performance of uniform irradiation with the use of an edge-softened lens array and spectral dispersion

A lens array composed of edge-softened elements is used to improve on-target irradiation uniformity in the Shenguang II Laser Facility, with which a Fresnel pattern of suppressed diffraction peaks is obtained. Additional uniformity can be reached by reducing short-wavelength interference speckles inside the pattern when the technique of smoothing by spectral dispersion is also used. Two-dimensional performance of irradiation is simulated and the results indicate that a pattern of steeper edges and a flat top can be achieved with this joint technique. Assembly of the highest connectivity Wells-Dawson polyoxometalate coordination polymer: the use of organic ligand flexibility

Through tuning the length of flexible bis(triazole) ligands and different metal ion coordination geometries, four Wells-Dawson polyoxoanion-based hybrid compounds, [Cu-6(btp)(3)(P2W18O62)] center dot 3H(2)O (1) (btp = 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane), [Cu-6(btb)(3)((P2W18O62) center dot 2H(2)O (2), [Cu-3(btb)(6)(P2W18O62)] center dot 6H(2)O (btb = 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butane) (3), and [Cu-3(btx)(5.5)((P2W18O62) center dot 4H(2)O (btx = 1,6-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)hexane) (4), were synthesized and structurally characterized. in compound 1, the metal-organic motif exhibits a ladder-like chain, which is further fused by the ennead-dentate [P2W18O62](6-) anions to construct a 3D structure. In compound 2, the metal-organic motif exhibits an interesting Cu-btb grid layer, and the ennead-dentate polyoxoanions are sandwiched by two Cu-btb layers to construct a 3D structure

Highly efficient and recoverable dendritic organocatalyst from click chemistry for the asymmetric michael addition of ketones to nitroolefins without the use of organic solvent

A series Of pyrrolidine-triazole based dendritic catalysts have been synthesized and applied directly in the asymmetric Michael addition of ketones to nitroolefins without the use of an organic solvent. Good yields (up to 99%), and high diastereoselectivities (up to syn/anti = 45:1) and enantioselectivities (up to 95% ee) have been obtained. The use of CE-electrochemiluminescence with ionic liquid for the determination of bioactive constituents in Chinese traditional medicine

CE/tris(2,2-bipyridyl) ruthenium(ll) (Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)) electrochemiluminescence (ECL), CEECL, with an ionic liquid (IL) detection system was established for the determination of bioactive constituents in Chinese traditional medicine opium poppy which contain large amounts of coexistent substances. A minimal sample pretreatment which involves a one-step extraction approach avoids both sample loss and environmental pollution. As the nearby hydroxyl groups in some alkaloid such as morphine may react with borate to form complexes and IL, as a high-conductivity additive in running buffer, could cause an enhanced field-amplified effect of electrokinetic injection. Running buffer containing 25 mM borax-8 mM 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMImBF(4)) IL (pH 9.18) was used which resulted in significant changes in separation selectivity and obvious enhancement in ECL intensities for those alkaloids with similar structures. Sensitive detection could be achieved when the distance between the Pt working electrode and the outlet of separation capillary was set at 150 mu m and the stainless steel cannula was fixed approximately 1 cm away from the outlet of the capillary. Quantitative analysis of four alkaloids was achieved at a detection voltage of 1.2 V and a separation voltage of 15 kV in less than 7 min.

Complex aggregates of silica microspheres by the use of a polymer template

Evaporation of a droplet of silica microsphere suspension on a polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate) blend film with isolated holes in its surface has been exploited as a means of particles self-assembly. During the retraction of the contact line of the droplet, spontaneous dewetting combined with the strong capillary force pack the silica microspheres into the holes in the polymer surface. Complex aggregates of colloids are formed after being exposed to acetone vapor. The morphology evolution of the underlying polymer film by exposure to acetone solvent vapor is responsible for the complex aggregates of colloids formation.

Flow injection electrochemical enzyme immunoassay based on the use of an immunoelectrode strip integrate immunosorbent layer and a screen-printed carbon electrode

A flow injection amperometric immunoassay system based on the use of screen-printed carbon electrode for the detection of mouse IgG was developed. An immunoelectrode strip, on which an immunosorbent layer and screen-printed carbon electrode were integrated, and a proposed flow cell have been fabricated. The characterization of the flow immunoassay system and parameters affecting the performance of the immunoassay system were studied and optimized. Amperometric detection at 0.0 V (versus Ag/AgCl) resulted in a linear detection range of 30-700 ng ml(-1), with a detection limit of 3 ng ml(-1). The signal variation among electrode strips prepared from variant batch did not exceed 8.5% (n = 7) by measuring 0.5 mug ml(-1) antigen standard solution.

Carbonyl-iridium half-sandwich compounds, Cp*Ir(CO)(EPh)(2) (E = S, Se), were prepared by the photo-induced reaction of Cp*Ir(CO)(2) with the diphenyl dichalcogenides, E2Ph2, and used as neutral chelating ligands in carbonylmetal complexes such as Cp*Ir(CO)(mu-EPh)(2)[Cr(CO)(4)], Cp*Ir(CO)(mu-EPh)(2)[Mo(CO)(4)] and Cp*Ir(CO)(mu-EPh)(2)[Fe(CO)(3)], respectively. A trimethylphosphane - iridium analogue, Cp*Ir(PMe3)(mu-SeMe)(2)[Cr(CO)(4)], was also obtained. The new heterodimetallic complexes were characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy, and the molecular geometry of Cp*Ir(CO)(mu-SePh)(2)[Mo(CO)(4)] has been determined by a single crystal X-ray structure analysis.
