Solutions of polyaniline (PAn), poly(ortho-toluidine) (POT) and poly(ortho-anisidine) (PAs) in N-methyl pyrrolidinone (NMP) were examined by viscometric, gel permeation chromatographic (GPC) and theological methods. Strong intermolecular interaction and molecular aggregation are shown.

Thermal properties of polyaniline (PAn), polytoluidine(POT) and polyanisidine(PAs) were examined by TG and DSC techniques. The weight-uptake of POT at 200-300 degrees C was observed and carefully discussed.

Polyaminopolycarboxylate gadolinium (III) complexes have been studied intensively in recent years because of their potential uses as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MHI)([1]). The research interests are mainly focussed on Gd3+ complexes of DTPA, DOTA and their various derivatives. Four kinds of Gd3+ complexes can be used presently in clinical MRI, which are GD(DTPA)([2]), Gd(DOTA)([3]), Gd(DTPA-BMA)([4]) and Gd(HP-DO3A)([5]). Here report two new DTPA bis (amide) derivatives-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid-N, N ''-bis (dimethylamide) (DTPA-BDMA) and -bis (diethylamide) (DTPA-BDEA).

Pyrazolone derivatives, such as antipyrine, aminopyrine, and 4-aminoantipyrine, can transfer across the water/nitrobenzene interface to produce a pair of well-defined symmetric, reversible anodic-cathodic peaks by cyclic voltammetri. The transfer mechanis

In this work, the adsorption or binding of cytochrome c with 4-pyridyl derivatives modified on the gold electrode was studied. It was found that the concentrations of electrolyte had much influence on the adsorption of cytochrome c. At lower concentration

Quinine derivatives, quinine hydrochloride and 8-hydroxyquinoline, transfer across the water/nitrobenzene interface was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The effect of solution acidity on the transfer behaviour was observed. Transfer mechanism was discussed

The reaction of LnCl3.2LiCl with 1 equiv of MeCpNa in THF gives the complexes [(THF)2Li(mu-Cl)2]2[MeCpLn(THF)] (Ln = Nd (1), La (2)) in good yield. These precursors react further with 2 equiv of LiNPh2 to produce the new complexes [Li(DME)3][MeCpLn(NPh2)3] (Ln = La (3), Pr (4), Nd (5)). They have been characterized by elemental analyses and IR and NMR spectra, as well as by structural analyses of 1 and 3. The chloride 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n (No. 14) with a = 12.130 (5) angstrom, b = 17.343 (5) angstrom, c = 17.016 (5) angstrom, beta = 108.54 (3)-degrees, V = 3393.87 angstrom3, Z = 4, and D(c) = 1.45 g/cm3. Least-squares refinement led to a final R value of 0.051 (I greater-than-or-equal-to 3-sigma(I(o))) for 2004 independent reflections. Complex 3 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c (No. 14) with a = 18.335 (6) angstrom, b = 16.576 (5) angstrom, c = 17.461 (6) angstrom, beta = 96.04 (3)-degrees, V = 5277.17 angstrom3, D(c) = 1.26 g/cm3, Z = 4, and R = 0.057 (I greater-than-or-equal-to 2.5-sigma(I(o))) for 3378 reflections. The structure of 3 consists of discrete ion pairs [Li(DME)3]+ and [MeCpLa(NPh2)3]- with average La-N and La-C(ring) distances of 2.459 (8) and 2.84 (1) angstrom, respectively.

The electrochemical polymerization of amino-derivatives of naphthalene has been studied on the platinum wire electrodes. The effects of acidity of the modifying media and the potential scan rate on the cyclic voltammograms are verified. As potentiometric pH sensors, the electrodes prepared from 1-naphthylamine and 2,3-diaminonaphthalene showed performance characteristics superior to some other electrodes tested. The electrode modified with 1-naphthylamine in the optimum medium showed a nearly Nernstian response of 4.20-13.70 pH and a slope of -54.8 mV/pH, while the linear range of the electrode prepared by 2,3-diaminonaphthalene was 4.00-13.60 pH, with a slope of -52.4 mV/pH.

A study of doubly charged ion mass spectra (2E spectra), the substituents effect and the target gas pressure deppendence of biphenyl derivitives was presented in this work. The decomposition of doubly charged ion formed in the ion source is dominant by the losses of H, C2H2, C2H4 and HR(R represents substituent). [C12H8]2+, [C12H6]2+ and [C10H6]2+ among others are the most stable product ions. The substituents effect is Various in different decomposition reactions, and in some cases it can not be predicted by Hammett equition. While the TIC of 2E spectra was markedly influenced by the target gas pressure, but the fragmentation pattern of the 2E spectra is independent of it.

SERRS of copper tetrakis(2,4-ditert-penthyl phenoxy) Phthalocyanine LB monolayer on Ag island film and RRS of the compound in solid state have been obtained. On comparison between the spectra, it is proposed that the macrocycle of the molecule on the Ag substrate is oriented parallel to the surface.

Transfer behaviors across the water/nitrobenzene interface were studied for five choline derivatives by chronopotentiometry with linear current scanning, cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The irreversible hydrolysis reactions coupled to the phase transfer of ions across the water/nitrobenzene interface were observed. The Gibbs energies of the transfer of choline derivatives show the effects of an additive constitution on hydrophobic property of the medicine.

Four new (1-4) and seven known (5-11) benzaldehyde derivatives were characterized from the liquid fermentation cultures of Eurotium rubrum, an endophytic fungus that was isolated from the inner tissue of stems of the mangrove plant Hibiscus tiliaceus. The structures of these compounds were determined by extensive analysis of their spectroscopic data. Among these metabolites, compound 1, which was named as eurotirumin, possesses a new carbon skeleton with a cyclopentabenzopyran ring system.

A new acetylated flavanol, 3,7-O-diacetyl (-)-epicatechin (3), and seven known flavanol derivatives, (-)-epicatechin (1), 3-O-acetyl (-)-epicatechin (2), 3,3 ',4 ',5,7-O-pentaacetyl (-)-epicatechin (4), (+)-afzelechin (5), (+)-catechin (6), cinchonain Ib (7), and proanthocyanidin B2 (8), were isolated from the stems and twigs of the mangrove plant Rhizophora stylosa and identified. The crude extract, the different fractions and all of the purified compounds were evaluated for DPPH radical scavenging activity.
