采用20μm的狭缝配平面晶体谱仪构成空间分辨光谱测量系统,对Al激光等离子体的K壳层发射谱进行测量。利用Al的Ly-α线谱的翼部Stark展宽效应推得电子密度空间分布轮廓.建立了翼部Stark展宽法测量高密度等离子体电子密度的诊断技术。

通过在线形谐振腔中引入一段缠绕在压电陶瓷上的单模光纤作为正弦相位调制器,使得激射波长的损耗不固定,抑制由于掺铒光纤的均匀展宽效应引起的模式竞争,从而避免了在室温下不稳定的单波长激射,实现了多波长掺铒光纤激光器的稳定输出。为了获得平坦的多波长输出,在谐振腔里使用了一个损耗峰位于1530nm处的长周期光纤光栅,以获得较为平坦的增益谱。通过两个3dB耦合器制成的反射型梳状滤波器的滤波作用,实验中观察到稳定的多波长激射,相邻波长间隔约为0.45nm。中心9个波长的输出功率平坦度为10dB,边模抑制比大于25dB。

A highly uniform multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber ring laser with an intracavity sine phase modulator is demonstrated. The flat output spectrum is achieved by optimizing the cavity structure, modulation amplitude, and frequency of the sine phase modulator. Fifteen lasing lines with wavelength spacing of 0.9 nm appear simultaneously and stably with power differences less than 2 dB and side-mode suppression ratio higher than 32 dB. In addition, the proposed cavity can support unidirectional operation without optical isolators. An output power difference of about 20 dB is realized between the counterclockwise and clockwise directions, which is almost independent of the pump power and lasing wavelengths. We propose a novel highly sensitive wave front detection method for a quick check of a flat wave front by taking advantage of a non-zero-order pi phase plate that yields a non-zero-order diffraction pattern. When a light beam with a flat wave front illuminates a phase plate, the zero-order intensity is zero. When there is a slight distortion of the wave front, the zero-order intensity increases. The ratio of first-order intensity to that of zero-order intensity is used as the criterion with which to judge whether the wave front under test is flat, eliminating the influence of background light. Experimental results demonstrate that this method is efficient, robust, and cost-effective and should be highly interesting for a quick check of a flat wave front of a large-aperture laser beam and adaptive optical systems. A novel optical interleaver scheme based on nested optical glass pairs is proposed. The assembly of pairs behaves as a cascaded Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The interleaver, with simple structure, low cost, and compact size, can be easily implemented with inexpensive material and mature preparation technology. Small channel spacing (<= 50 GHz), high isolation (<-30 dB), a wide, flat passband and stop band (> 2/11 period), and center-frequency tunability can be obtained simultaneously. An optimum design of a 50-GHz tunable interleaver based on this structure is given as an example. Its environmental temperature sensitivity and fabrication tolerance are also analyzed. We proposed a new method of measuring the degree of collimation of laser beam using axial intensity information near paraxial focus. Preceding methods for collimation testing are mainly either based on self-imaging or interferometric techniques. The new method is to employ the diffraction behavior of noncollimated wave in circular aperture diaphragm. The principle of the proposed method and experiment results are presented. Due to simplicity of the method and its low cost, it is a promising method for checking the collimation of laser beam. (c) 2005 Published by Elsevier GmbH.

提出了一种基于同步移相技术的1/4波片快轴方位角的实时测量方法。由正交光栅、光阑、检偏器组和四象限探测器实现同步移相功能。检偏器组由4个不同方位角的检偏器组成。通过检偏器组的四束光束的光强由四象限探测器同时测量。1/4波片的快轴方位角由这四光束的光强得到。由于该方法不需旋转偏振器件,从而实现的1/4波片的快轴方位角的实时测量。

A set of recursive formulas for diffractive optical plates design is described. The pure-phase plates simulated by this method homogeneously concentrate more than 96% of the incident laser energy in the desired focal-plane region. The intensity focal-plane profile fits a lath-order super-Gaussian function and has a nearly perfect flat top. Its fit to the required profile measured in the mean square error is 3.576 x 10(-3). In this paper we theoretically study the left-handed behaviors in a two-dimensional triangular photonic crystal made of elliptical rods in air. An absolute left-handed region is found in the second photonic band by using the plane wave expansion method to analyze the photonic band structure and equifrequency contours. Typical left-handed behaviors such as negative refraction, flat superlensing and plano-concave lensing are demonstrated by the finite-difference time-domain simulations. These behaviors are also compared with the quasi-negative refraction and the resulted focusing effects in a square-lattice two-dimensional photonic crystal. (c) 2005 Optical Society of America

We systematically investigate the square-lattice dielectric photonic crystals that have been used to demonstrate flat slab imaging experimentally. A right-handed Bloch mode is found in the left-handed frequency region by using the plane wave expansion method to analyze the photonic band structure and equifrequency contours. Using the multiple scattering theory, numerical simulations demonstrate that the left-handed mode and the right-handed mode are excited simultaneously by a point source and result in two kinds of transmitted waves. Impacted by the evanescent waves, superposition of these transmitted waves brings on complicated near field distributions such as the so-called imaging and its disappearance.

提出将空间域的透镜列阵法和时间域的光谱色散平滑法结合起来实现靶面的均匀辐照.消衍射型透镜列阵能获得边缘陡峭且顶部较平坦的准近场焦斑,光谱色散平滑则能有效地抹平焦斑内部由多光束干涉引起的细密条纹.数值结果显示,通过该方案能获得均匀性较好的焦斑.进一步分析了光谱色散平滑单元中位相调制和光栅的参数对辐照均匀性的影响,发现参数的选取要在焦斑均匀性和能量利用率之间取得合理平衡,以在整体上获得最佳的均匀辐照效果.

Microstructure optical fibers with flat-top fundamental mode are first proposed by introducing a low-index inner core into the core of index-guiding microstructure optical fibers. The design guidelines and characteristics of beam-shaping microstructure optical fibers are demonstrated. The interrelationships of inner-core index with laser wavelength, air hole diameter and size of inner core are investigated. The influence of the relative size of inner core on the spatial profile of the fundamental mode is demonstrated. Moreover, sensitivity of the flat-top fundamental mode profile from the slight change of the optimum inner-core index value is studied. Starting from these results we deduce that it is possible to fabricate beam-shaping microstructure fibers with nowadays technique. (C) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Based on the Coulomb friction model, the frictional motion model of workpiece relating to the polishing pad was presented in annular polishing. By the dynamic analysis software, the model was simulated and analysed. The conclusions from the results were that the workpiece did not rotate steadily. When the angular velocity of ring and the direction were the same as that of the polishing pad, the angular velocity of workpiece hoicked at the beginning and at the later stage were the same as that of the polishing pad before contacting with the ring. The angular velocity of workpiece vibrated at the moment of contacting with the ring. After that the angular velocity of workpiece increased gradually and fluctuated at a given value, while the angular velocity of ring decreased gradually and also fluctuated at a given value. Since the contact between the workpiece and the ring was linear, their linear velocities and directions should be the same. But the angular velocity of workpiece was larger than that of the polishing pad on the condition that the radius of the workpiece was less than that of the ring. This did not agree with the pure translation principle and the workpiece surface could not be flat, either. Consequently, it needed to be controlled with the angular velocity of ring and the radii of the ring and the workpiece, besides friction to make the angular velocity of workpiece equal to that of the polishing pad for obtaining fine surface flatness of the workpiece.
