Chemorheology and corresponding models for an epoxy-terminated poly(phenylene ether ketone) (E-PEK) and 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl sulfone (DDS) system were investigated using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and a cone-and-plate rheometer. For this system, the reported four-parameter chemorheological model and modified WLF chemorheological model can only be used in an isothermal or nonisothermal process, respectively. In order to predict the resin viscosity variation during a stepwise temperature cure cycle actually used, a new model based on the combination of the four-parameter model and the modified WLF model was developed. The combined model can predict the resin viscosity variation during a stepwise temperature cure cycle more accurately than the above two models. In order to simplify the establishment of this model, a new five-parameter chemorheological model was then developed. The parameters in this five-parameter model can be determined through very few rheology and DSC experiments. This model is practicable to describe the resin viscosity variation for isothermal, nonisothermal, or stepwise temperature cure cycles accurately. The five-parameter chemorheological model has also successfully been used in the E-PEK systems with two other curing agents, i.e., the diamine curing agent with the addition of a boron trifluride monoethylamine (BF3-MEA) accelerator and an anhydride curing agent (hexahydrophthalic acid anhydride). Gas permeability coefficients of a series of aromatic polyimides, which were prepared from oxydiphthalic dianhydride (ODPA) with various aromatic diamines, with respect to H-2, CO2, O-2, N-2, and CH4 were measured under 10 atm and in the temperature range from 30 to 150 degrees C. A significant change in gas permeability and permselectivity resulting from systematic variation of the chemical structure of the polyimides was found. Among the polyimides which were prepared from phenylenediamine and its derivatives as well as bridged diamines without side groups on the benzene rings of the diamine residues, the increase of the gas permeability is accompanied by a decrease of the permselectivity. However, both the gas permeability and the permselectivity of the polyimides which were prepared from bridged diamines with methyl or methoxy groups on the benzene rings of the diamine residues simultaneously increase.

Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) monolayers of three kinds of soluble polyimides were prepared with the direct deposition method, The monolayer structures were characterized with W-vis absorption spectroscopy, the wide angle X-ray scattering method and electrochemical techniques. The polyimide molecules in the LB monolayers lie orderly on the substrate surfaces with the orientation in which the dianhydride group is normal to the substrate surface and two carbonyl oxygen groups close to the surface. Therefore, the thickness of the three kinds of polyimide LB monolayers are the same because it depends on the distance between the two carbonyl oxygen groups in the same ring. The area of monomeric units are dependent on the length of the diamine group. The model of the molecular packing proposed from the quantomechanical calculation is in good agreement with the experimental results. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.

2,2'-Bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenoxy)-1,1'-binaphthyl dianhydride was used as a new monomer with various aromatic diamines to obtain polyimides by the usual two-step method. The bis(ether anhydride) was prepared by a nucleophilic substitution of I,1'-bi-2-naphthol with N-phenyl-4-chlorophthalimide, N-methyl-4-nitrophthalimide or 4-nitrophthalonitrile in aprotic polar solvent, and subsequent hydrolysis of the resulting bis(ether imide)s or bis(ether dinitrile), and then dehydration of the corresponding tetracarboxylic acid to afford the dianhydride. Most of the obtained polyimides were soluble in chloroform, pyridine, DMF, etc. The polyimide prepared from p-phenylene diamine was partial crystalline, whereas the others showed amorphous patterns in a WAXD study. These polymers have glass transition temperatures between 255-294 degrees C and 5% weight loss temperatures in the range of 502-541 degrees C in nitrogen and 473-537 degrees C in air. The synthesis and characterization of a series of poly(amic methyl ester)s from five aromatic dianhydrides and a diamine, 4,4'-oxydianiline (ODA), are described. These poly(amic ester)s are obtained by the low-temperature polycondensation from dianhydrides derived diester-diacyl chlorides and ODA in DMAc solution with the inherent viscosities in the 0.5-0.9 dL/g range. These precursors are readily soluble in aprotic solvents. A detailed thermal study of the imidization process is presented, based on dynamic and isothermal TGA measurements, FTIR spectroscopy, and dynamic mechanical analysis. Gas permeability coefficients of a series of aromatic polyetherimides, which were prepared from 1,4-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenoxy) benzene dianhydride (HQDPA) and various aromatic diamines, to H-2, CO2, O-2, N-2 and CH4 have been measured under 7 atm pressure and over the temperature range 30-150 degrees C. A significant change in permeability and permselectivity, which resulted from a systematic variation in chemical structure of the polyetherimides, was found. Generally, increases in permeability of the polyetherimides are accompanied by decreases in permselectivity. The order of decrease of the permeability coefficients is as follows: HQDPA-IPDA > HQDPA-DDS > HQDPA-MDA > HQDPA-ODA > HQDPA-DABP > HQDPA-BZD. However, HQDPA-DMoBZD and HQDPA-DMoMDA, with bulky methoxy side-groups on the aromatic rings of the diamine residue, display both high permeability coefficients and high permselectivity. The favourable gas separation property, excellent thermal and chemical stability, and high mechanical strength make HQDPA-DMoBZD and HQDPA-DMoMDA promising candidates for membrane-based gas separation applications.

Gas permeability coefficients of a series of aromatic polyetherimides prepared from 1,4-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenoxy) benzene dianhydride (HQDPA) and four (methylene dianiline)s with a methyl side group to H-2, CO2, O-2, N-2, and CH4 were measured under 7 atm and within a temperature range from 30 to 150 degrees C. The gas permeabilities and permselectivities of these polymers were compared with those of the HQDPA-based polyetherimides from methylene dianiline (MDA) and isopropylidene dianiline (IPDA). The number and position of the methyl side groups on the benzene rings of the diamine residues strongly affect the gas permeabilities and permselectivities of the HQDPA-based polyetherimides. The gas permeability of the polyetherimide progressively increases with an increase in the number of the methyl side groups. Both the gas permeability and permselectivity of the polyetherimides with methyl side groups are higher than those of HQDPA-MDA. The polyetherimide prepared from 3,3'-dimethyl 4,4'-methylene dianiline (DMMDA1) possesses both higher permeability and permselectivity than the polyetherimides prepared from 2,2'-dimethyl 4,4'-methylene dianiline (DMMDA2). However, two of the polyetherimides prepared 2,2',3,3'-tetramethyl 4,4'-methylene dianiline (TMMDA1) or 2,2', 5,5'-tetramethyl 4,4'-methylene dianiline (TMMDA2) possess almost the same gas permeability and permselectivity.

The thermal decomposition of polyaniline(PAn) and poly-o-toluidine(POT) was studied by means of direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry(DM) and MS/MS, The results showed that both benzene-diamine and quinone-diimine units were produced, and the intensities of fragments corresponding to quinone-diimine units increased as the oxidation degrees increased, The mechanism of thermal decomposition of PAn and POT was given for the first time.

The reactions of polyaniline and poly-omicron-methylaniline of different oxidation degrees with I2 were followed by FTIR and electrical conductivity measurements. The results showed that the reaction of common polyanilines with I2 was oxidation in nature whereas that of the fully reduced ones was doping. The latter took place in two steps: oxidation of benzene-diamine units into quinone-diimine units (redox between I2 and the polymer chain) and formation of a conjugated system consisting of four aromatic rings (intramolecular chain redox).

The chain structure of polyaniline doped with HCl or CF_3COOH has been investigated by FTIR, solid state ~(13)CNMR, resonance laser Raman and UV-VIS spectroscopies. The results show that during the protonic acid doping, a partial redox reaction takes place between the quinone-diimine and benzene-diamine units and it leads to a long conjugate system with a certain charge distribution.

本文所介绍的水下机械手液压控制系统为一典型的具有变回油压力封闭式系统。文中阐述了此种系统液压动力机构的设计原理及静、动态参数的分析计算方法。对于在变回油压力下,由四通阀控制的非对称油缸的静态特性进行了详细的分析。给出了在不同回油压力下,不同面积比的非对称油缸、阀的负载压降及最大空载流量的变化规律。这对于确定水下机械手的液压动力机构的参数提供了依据。

The reductive carbonylation of nitrobenzene catalyzed by selenium to yield unsymmetric phenylureas has been studied. When secondary amines were used as coreagents, a single product, PhNHCONR2, was formed; when primary amines were chosen as coreagents, mixed products, including RNHCONHR, RNHCONHPh and PhNHCONHPh, were obtained.
