激光二极管连续抽运电光调Q Nd：YVO4激光器

报道了全固态激光器连续抽运高重复率电光调Q的实验和理论分析结果。用LGS（La3Ga5SiO14）晶体作电光调Q元件，在激光二极管（LD）端面抽运Nd：YVO4激光器中实现了较高重复率的电光调Q输出。实验中在10^4Hz重复率下，抽运功率为28w时，平均功率超过5W，脉冲宽度为7ns，峰值功率为70kW，并对不同重复率时的脉冲输出进行了比较，在低重复率下，脉宽〈6．5ns，峰值功率超过100kW。在理论上，通过对连续抽运时的电光调Q速率方程进行修正，并考虑放大自发辐射（ASE）的影响，对调Q激光器的储能过

双侧面90°抽运微通道致冷Yb：YAG板条激光器

报道了采用带有微柱镜的激光二极管阵列（LDA）双侧面90°排布抽运的Yb：YAG板条激光器，实验中使用的激光晶体尺寸为6mm×10mm×1mm，掺杂原子数分数为3％。抽运光通过自行设计的聚光系统聚焦成10mm×1mm的光斑进行抽运，聚光系统的效率为75％，晶体表面功率密度达到1．9kW／cm^2，晶体内抽运光交叠区的体功率密度达到38kW／cm^3，远高于阈值的1．7kW／cm^3。当激光器采用平一凹腔结构，耦合输出为6％时激光单脉冲输出能量最高为25．5mJ，斜率效率为13％。插入声光调Q晶体后获得4．

部分端面抽运混合腔Nd∶YVO_4板条激光器实验研究

为了获得大功率高光束质量的激光输出,利用自制的5bar激光二极管阵列堆作为抽运源,抽运光经波导整形系统整形后入射至晶体,采用柱面镜混合腔结构,对部分端面抽运的混合腔Nd∶YVO4板条激光器进行了实验研究。在最高抽运功率134W时,得到了38W的连续激光输出,斜效率44%,测得的两个方向的M2因子为1.56和1.78。实验结果表明,该激光器具有极佳的热效应,能够在高功率运转时保持高光束质量的激光输出,输入-输出功率曲线没有出现平顶或弯曲的迹象,该激光器仍有提升潜力,本结果有助于进一步提升该激光器的性能,实现更高功率的高光束质量激光输出。

高重复率窄脉宽Nd∶YVO_4板条激光器

部分端面抽运的混合腔板条激光器是一种新型的全固态激光器,采用这种结构,实现了高重复率调Q运转。在脉冲抽运情况下,1kHz运转时,得到脉宽4.6ns,单脉冲能量4.5mJ的激光输出。在连续抽运调Q输出情况下,5kHz高重复率运转时,获得了脉宽6ns,单脉冲能量3.1mJ的脉冲序列输出,平均功率超过15W;当重复率高达25kHz时,得到脉宽9.5ns,单脉冲能量1.2mJ的激光输出,平均功率达30W。实验结果表明,输出水平还有很大的提升空间。

侧面泵浦的短矩形掺钕磷酸盐玻璃光纤激光器

利用光纤－波导耦合器技术侧面泵浦一根4厘米长的短光纤，我们研制得到了一个红外波长的光纤激光器。该激光器的增益介质是横截面为矩形的掺钕磷酸盐玻璃光纤，其纤芯横截面尺寸为1.5×0.5 毫米，数值孔径为0.2。单横模激光可以通过该矩形光纤的增益-导引效应来获得。最大的激光输出功率为1.05瓦，斜率效率为10％。

Thermal and thermal-optical effects in high-power photonic crystal fiber lasers

A series-parallel model is introduced to calculate the effective thermal conductivities of hollow claddings of photonic crystal fibers ( PCFs ). The temperature distribution and thermal-optical properties of PCF lasers are studied by solving the heat transfer equations. Output beam quality of edge pumped planar waveguide lasers with confocal unstable resonators

Output beam quality of edge pumped planar waveguide lasers with confocal unstable resonators is investigated by diffraction methods, taking into account gain saturation, asymmetric pumping, and beam interaction. The influences of pumping uniformity, doping concentration, cavity length and effective Fresnel number are analyzed with respect to output beam quality and pumping efficiency. It is found that good beam quality and high efficiency can be obtained with asymmetric pumping and optimized negative branch confocal unstable resonators. (c) 2005 The Optical Society of Japan.

High power coherent beam combination from two fiber lasers

Phase locking of two fiber lasers is demonstrated experimentally by the use of a self-imaging resonator with a spatial filter. The high-contrast interference strips of the coherent beam profile are observed. The coherent output power of the fiber array exceeds 12W and the efficiency of coherent power combination is 88% with pump power of 60W. The whole system operates quite stably and, for the spatial filter, no thermal effects have been observed, which means that we can increase the coherent output power further by this method. Phase-locking of two large-core fibre lasers with 60W of coherent output power

A phase-locking fibre laser array with up to 60 W of coherent output power based on two large-core fibre is reported. The slope efficiency of the in-phase mode is 37%. For two cases of spacings between the cores, steady high-contrast interference stripes are observed. When the whole system operates under a high pump power level, no thermal effects for the spatial filter have been observed, which means that we can increase the coherent output power further by increasing the individual fibre laser power.

Mode properties of off-axis one-sided hybrid resonator for novel high average power dual-slab laser

A novel dual-slab laser with off-axis one-sided hybrid resonator is presented. The mode properties of the hybrid resonator are calculated using a fast Fourier transform method (FFT). The influence of wavefront distoration on the output beam quality is considered. Results indicate that the novel dual-slab laser is better than the normal dual-slab laser with off-axis one-sided hybrid resonator.

Quasi-self-imaging planar waveguide lasers with high-power single-mode output

We describe high-power planar waveguide laser which can achieve single-mode output from a multi-mode structure. The planar waveguide is constructed with incomplete self-imaging properties, by which the coupling loss of each guided mode can be discriminated. Transverse mode formation in longitudinally pumped miniature slab lasers

The formation of transverse modes in longitudinally pumped miniature slab lasers is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The longitudinally non-uniform gain-guiding is studied by expanding the electric field into the Hermite-Gaussian functions that satisfy boundary conditions of the resonator. Non-Gaussian transversal beam profiles in the near field are found and the beam diameter is reduced when the pump spot becomes smaller. The experimental observation agrees with the theoretical calculation.
