The growth behaviour of zero-mean-shear turbulent-mixed layer containing suspended solid particles has been studied experimentally and analysed theoretically in a two-layer fluid system. The potential model for estimating the turbulent entrainment rate of the mixed layer has also been suggested, including the results of the turbulent entrainment for pure two-layer fluid. The experimental results show that the entrainment behaviour of a mixed layer with the suspended particles is well described by the model. The relationship between the entrainment distance and the time, and the variation of the dimensionless entrainment rate E with the local Richardson number Ri1 for the suspended particles differ from that for the pure two-layer fluid by the factors-eta-1/5 and eta-1, respectively, where eta = 1 + sigma-0-DELTA-rho/DELTA-rho-0.

A dynamic 3D pore-scale network model is formulated for investigating the effect of interfacial tension and oil-water viscosity during chemical flooding. The model takes into account both viscous and capillary forces in analyzing the impact of chemical properties on flow behavior or displacement configuration, while the static model with conventional invasion percolation algorithm incorporates the capillary pressure only. From comparisons of simulation results from these models. it indicates that the static pore scale network model can be used successfully when the capillary number is low. With the capillary increases due to the enhancement of water viscosity or decrease of interfacial tension, only the quasi-static and dynamic model can give insight into the displacement mechanisms.

可压平面混合层是包含复杂多时空尺度运动的非定常流体力学部问题,具有深刻的理论意义和广泛的应用背景。针对该问题所涉及内容的多面性,本文的目的是,基于高精度、高分辨率数值算法的构造、发展和数值行为分析,采用线性稳定性分析和直接数值模拟方法。从理论和计算两方面集中研究压缩性效应、粘性效应、初值效应以及燃烧反应放热效应等对可压平面混合层早期稳定性行为和大尺度拟序涡结构非线性演化的影响。以混合层已有研究成果的分析和综述为开端,论文主体共包括四部分:第一部分是可压平面混合层时间/空间模式数值线性稳定性分析。实现了高精度对称紧致差分格式(SCD)对可压粘性扰动线性稳定性边值问题的求解,对导出的线性和非线性离散特征值问题,提出了两个高效局部解法。研究涉及二维/三维扰动波、无粘/粘性扰动波、特征函数和特征值谱、第一/第二模态、超声速快/慢模态、速度比和密度比等。验证了对流Mach数Mc为一个合理的压缩性参数。指出压缩性效应和粘性效应对最不稳定扰动波的波数(频率)和增长率呈相拟的抑制作用,且时间模式稳定性分析结果在许多方面是可信的。从随机和线性扰动场出发,采用高精度五阶迎风紧致和六阶对称紧致混合差分算法(UCD5/SCD6)对可压平面混合层的稳定性特征进行了直接数值模拟,揭示了初始主导线性扰动与一些实际涡结构非线性作用形态间的内在关联,印证了线性稳定性分析方法的合理性和有效性。第二部分是高精度迎风紧致差分格式(UCD)时空全离散数值行为分析。导出了其一维/二维一般色散表达式。研究表明,UCD格式在高波数区具有内在的全离散耗散和色散特性;其数值群速度的快/慢特征可因CFL数不同而改变;在稳定CFL数下简单附加人工粘性可强化UCD格式在高波数区的耗散量;提高时间精度可放宽稳定CFL数限制;UCD格式的二维全离散色散介质中存在三个不同性质的数值波,其全离散稳定性由数值声波主控。第三部分实现了高精度UCD5/SCD6差分算法对空间发展可压平面混合层的直接数值模拟。通过亚谐扰动波的个数和扰动频率的控制,捕捉到了基频涡的饱和、一次和二次对并等现象,显示了大尺度涡结构与入中初始扰动方式之间的内在联系。利用参数Mc观察了压缩性效应对大尺度涡空间演化及其相互作用的影响。第四部分实现了高精度UCD5/SCD6差分算法对非预混扩散火焰化学反应平面混合层的直接数值模拟。研究指出,放热效应可抑制和延迟涡的形成,使基频涡卷拉伸甚至丧失,混合层Reynolds 应力ρu'v'和流向速度波动关联项u'v'下降,以致涡结构与外流动量交换和标量输运减少,脉动输运能力被削弱,从而混合效率、产物生成率和混合层增长率下降,放热主要通过膨胀效应和斜压效应来抑制大尺度涡的演化。

Firstly, the main factors are obtained by use of dimensionless analysis. Secondly, the time scaling factors in centrifuge modeling of bucket foundations under dynamic load are analyzed based on dimensionless analysis and control- ling equation. A simplified method for dealing with the conflict of scaling factors of the inertial and the percolation in sand foundation is presented. The presented method is that the material for experiments is not changed while the effects are modified by perturbation method. Thirdly, the characteristic time of liquefaction state and the characteristic scale of affected zone are analyzed.

Sideband manipulation of population inversion in a three-level A atomic configuration is investigated theoretically. Compared with the case of a nearly monochromatic field, a population inversion between an excited state and a ground state has been found in a wide sideband intensity range by increasing the difference in frequency between three components. Furthermore, the population inversion can be controlled by the sum of the relative phases of the sideband components of the trichromatic pump field with respective to the phase of the central component. Changing the sum phase from 0 to pi, the population inversion between the excited state and the ground state can increase within nearly half of the sideband intensity range. At the same time, the sideband intensity range that corresponds to the system exhibiting inversion rho(00) > rho 11 also becomes wider evidently.

Two overrun effects in the Coulomb explosion dynamics of heteronuclear clusters have been investigated theoretically by the use of a simplified electrostatic model. When the charge-to-mass ratio of light ions is higher than that of heavy ions, the light ions can overtake the heavy ions inside the cluster and acquire a higher kinetic energy. Further, if the charge density of the heavy ions is twice as high as that of the light ions, i.e. a proposed competitive parameter xi = rho BqB/rho AqA > 2, the inner light ions can overtake those light ions on the surface of the cluster and form a shock shell during the explosion, which might drive the intracluster collision and fusion of the light ions. Different regimes of nuclear fusion are discussed and the corresponding neutron yields are estimated. Our analysis indicates that the probability of intracluster fusion is quite low even if deuterated heteronuclear clusters such as (DI)(n) with large size and high competitive parameter are employed. However, heteronuclear clusters are still a better candidate compared with homonuclear clusters for enhancing the total intercluster fusion yield because both a higher energy region and a higher proportion of deuterons distributing in the energy region can be created in the deuterated heteronuclear clusters.

小G蛋白(small GTPases)是真核生物中广泛存在的一类调节各种生命活动的信号分子。根据结构与功能的不同,小G蛋白家族成员可分成五个亚家族,分别为Ras,Rab,Rho,Arf和Ran。五类小G蛋白通过其活化态(GTP结合态)和非活化态(GDP结合态)的相互转换行使着各种功能。Ras GTPases在酵母和哺乳动物中调节细胞增殖过程; Rho GTPases调控肌动蛋白重组过程,并参与MAP 激酶的细胞信号转导过程等; Rab GTPases和Arf GTPases分别在膜转运过程中起着不同的重要作用;而Ran GTPases则在核孔位置调节着蛋白和RNA分子的运输过程。 小G蛋白附属蛋白调节着小G蛋白活化态与非活化态之间的转换,其中鸟核苷酸交换因子(guanine nucleotide exchange factors, GEFs)可以催化小G蛋白转换为GTP结合形式,即活化态;而GTPase 激活蛋白(GTPase-activating proteins, GAPs)和小G蛋白结合蛋白(small GTPases binding proteins)可以激活小G蛋白自身的水解活性,从而将其转变成非活化态形式。 相比其它小G蛋白,Ran GTPases及其附属蛋白在真核生物中的研究相对较少。已有的成果表明它们主要在核质运输过程中及对相应的信号转导途径起调节作用。而针对Ran GTPases及其附属蛋白在真核生物尤其是高等植物个体发育过程中的作用,目前报道还很少。 为了揭示Ran结合蛋白(Ran binding protein, RanBP)在植物发育过程中的作用,本文通过转基因手段对其功能进行 了研究。在此之前,本实验室已从小麦cDNA文库中成功克隆Ran结合蛋白基因:TaRanBP。该基因cDNA全长1035 bp,编码207个氨基酸。通过农杆菌介导叶圆片法,分别用正义、反义及TaRanBP与GFP融合蛋白等表达载体转化烟草,并成功获得转基因植株。亚细胞定位观察发现TaRanBP蛋白主要定位于细胞质内,尤其是在核膜附近富集。生理学和细胞学等方面的研究分析发现,TaRanBP基因在烟草个体发育过程中产生重要作用。过量表达TaRanBP基因的转基因植株在一定数量上表现出愈合的花冠筒上出现不同程度开裂,花冠筒上有附生舌状花瓣,及带有花瓣状颜 色的花萼等异常花表型。同时,转反义基因在一定程度上促进了转基因植株初生主根的生长(为对照烟草的2.3倍),而转正义基因烟草与对照烟草的初生主根长度差异不明显。用碘化丙锭(Propidium Iodide, PI)进行根部细胞染色。观察发现,不同的转基因烟草与对照烟草之间在根的各个不同形态区域的细胞大小差异不明显,推测根长的差异可能是由于整体细胞数目变化的原因导致。向重力性实验发现,转反义基因烟草幼苗较对照烟草的向重力性反应增加,而转正义基因的则表现为降低。激素吲哚乙酸(Indoleacetic Acid, IAA)的添加处理可以恢复转反义基因烟草的向重力性异常表型,而对转正义基因烟草几乎无影响。添加激动素(Kinetin, KT)的处理发现不同转基因烟草和对照烟草的向重力性均有减弱。观测后期,转正义基因的向重力敏感性较对照烟草得到恢复。测量不同转基因株系T1代幼苗鲜重,发现不同转基因烟草和对照烟草的幼苗鲜重动态变化在各个时间点有差异,且差异情况不尽相同。而不同转基因幼苗T1代幼苗可溶性蛋白含量较对照烟草有不同程度的下降。这种下降并没有影响转基因烟草的整体生长进程,开花期和结实情况与对照烟草相比也无明显变化。

Let A and B be nonsingular M-matrices. A lower bound on the minimum eigenvalue q(B circle A(-1)) for the Hadamard product of A(-1) and B, and a lower bound on the minimum eigenvalue q(A star B) for the Fan product of A and B are given. In addition, an upper bound on the spectral radius rho(A circle B) of nonnegative matrices A and B is also obtained. These bounds improve several existing results in some cases and the estimating formulas are easier to calculate for they are only depending on the entries of matrices A and B. (C) 2009 Elsevier Inc. A 115 days feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary cyanobacteria on growth, microcystins (MCs) accumulation in hybrid tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus x O. aureus) and the recovery when the fish were free of cyanobacteria. Three experimental diets were formulated: the control (cyanobacteria free diet); one test diet with cyanobacteria from Lake Taihu (AMt 80.0 mu g MCs g(-1) diet) and one with cyanobacteria from Lake Dianchi (AMd, 410.0 rho g MCs g(-1) diet). Each diet was fed to fish for 60 days and then all fish were free of cyanobacteria for another 55 days. A significant increase in feeding rate (FR) was observed in fish fed AMd diet after a first 30-day exposure (1(st) EP), and in fish fed both AMt diet and AMd diet after a second 30-day exposure (2(nd) EP). Specific growth rates (SGR) of fish fed AMt diet and AMd diet were both obviously affected after the first 30-day exposure, but SGR was only significantly affected in fish fed AMt diet after the second 30-day exposure. After a 55-day recovery, there were no significant differences among diets in the indices mentioned above. Much higher concentrations of MCs were accumulated in tissues of all fish exposed to cyanobacteria. The glutathione S-transferases play important roles in the detoxification of microcystin. In this experiment, nine glutathione S-transferase genes including cytosolic GSTs (rho, mu, theta, alpha and pi), mitochondrial GST (kappa) and microsomal GSTs (mGST1, mGST2 and mGST3) were cloned from common carp Cyprinus carpio. The mRNA abundance of each carp GST isoform in liver was analyzed by real time PCR. The relative changes after stimulation with microcystin LR were also analyzed: increased levels of transcription of GST alpha, rho and mGST3 isoforms were detected at 6 h post stimulation; the transcription of mu, theta and mGST2 isoforms were relatively stable; and all the GST isoforms except GST kappa and rho recovered to original levels compared with controls at 72 h. Cubic boron nitride (c-BN) films were deposited on Si(001) substrates in an ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD) system under various conditions, and the growth parameter spaces and optical properties of c-BN films have been investigated systematically. The results indicate that suitable ion bombardment is necessary for the growth of c-BN films, and a well defined parameter space can be established by using the P/a-parameter. The refractive index of BN films keeps a constant of 1.8 for the c-BN content lower than 50%, while for c-BN films with higher cubic phase the refractive index increases with the c-BN content from 1.8 at chi(c) = 50% to 2.1 at chi(c) = 90%. Furthermore, the relationship between n and rho for BN films can be described by the Anderson-Schreiber equation, and the overlap field parameter gamma is determined to be 2.05.

We present a method for checking the Peres separability criterion in an arbitrary bipartite quantum state rho(AB) within local operations and classical communication scenario. The method does not require noise operation which is needed in making the partial transposition map physically implementable. The main task for the two observers, Alice and Bob, is to measure some specific functions of the partial transposed matrix. With these functions, they can determine the eigenvalues of rho(T)(AB)(B), among which the minimum serves as an entanglement witness.

We present a parametrically efficient method for measuring the entanglement of formation E-f in an arbitrarily given unknown two-qubit state rho(AB) by local operations and classical communication. The two observers, Alice and Bob, first perform some local operations on their composite systems separately, by which the desired global quantum states can be prepared. Then they estimate seven functions via two modified local quantum networks supplemented a classical communication. After obtaining these functions, Alice and Bob can determine the concurrence C and the entanglement of formation E-f.

A new measurement method for GaN films and their Schottky contacts is reported in this paper. Instead of the fabrication of Ohmic contacts, this measurement is based on a special back-to-back Schottky diode that has a rectifying character. A mathematical model indicates that the electronic parameters of the materials can be deduced from the device's I-V data. In the experiment of an unintentionally doped n-type GaN layer with a residual carrier density 7 x 10(16) cm(-3), the analysis by the new method gives the layer's sheet resistance rho(s) = 497 Omega, the electron mobility mu(n) =, 613 cm(2) V-1 s(-1) and the ideality factor of the Ni/Au-GaN Schottky contacts n = 2.5, which are close to the data obtained by the traditional measurements: rho(s) = 505 Omega, mu(n) = 585 cm(2) V-1 s(-1) and n = 3.0. The method reported can be adopted not only for GaN films but also for other semiconductor materials, especially in the cases where Ohmic contacts of high quality are hard to make or their fabricating process affects the film's character.

We present a modified method for detecting the concurrence in an arbitrary two-qubit quantum state rho(AB) with local operations and classical communication. In this method, it is not necessary for the two observers to prepare the quantum state rho(AB) by the structural physical approximation. Their main task is to measure four specific functions via two local quantum networks. With these functions they can determine the concurrence and then the entanglement of formation.
