Computation of the ambiguity function for circularly symmetric pupils

A method of computing the ambiguity function (AF) for a circularly symmetric pupil function is presented. The AFs of a clear aperture and two shaded apertures are considered in detail and an explicit expression for the first of these AFs is given. We explain these results in the context of the well-known optical transfer function theory and show a primary application of these computations. A good analytic approximation is also introduced, providing an alternative method for calculating the AF, in a simpler way.

Method for measuring the lateral aberrations of a lithographic projection system with mirror-symmetric FOCAL marks

A novel method for measuring the imaging quality of a projection system with mirror-symmetric FOCAL marks is proposed, and the principle of the method is described. Through experiments, it is demonstrated that not only the axial aberrations but also the lateral aberrations can be measured with high accuracy by the method. The advantages of the method include obtaining more aberrations than the FOCAL technique and making it much simpler to perform a full-scale measurement of the imaging quality of a lithographic projection system. Inverse symmetric Dammann gratings

Inverse symmetric Dammann grating is a special grating, whose transition points are reflection symmetric about the midpoint with inverse phase offset in one period. It can produce even-numbered or odd-numbered array illumination when the phase modulations are pi or a specific value. Numerical solutions optimized by the steepest-descent algorithm for binary phase and multilevel phases with splitting ratio from I x 4 to 1 x 14 are given. Fabrication of 1 x 6 array without the zero-order intensity and 1 x 7 array with the zero-order intensity are made from the same amplitude mask. A 6 x 6 output without the crossed zero-orders was achieved by crossing two one-dimensional 1 x 6 inverse symmetric Dammann gratings. This grating may have potential value for practical applications. Two families of antimicrobial peptides with multiple functions from skin of rufous-spotted torrent frog, Amolops loloensis

There are around 27 species of Amolops amphibian distributed in South-east of Asia. Seven antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) belonging to two different families were purified from skin of rufous-spotted torrent frog, Amolops loloensis, and designated brevinins
