The problems of dislocation nucleation and emission from a crack tip are analysed based on Peierls model. The concept adopted here is essentially the same as that proposed by Rice. A slight modification is introduced here to identify the pure linear elastic response of material. A set of new governing equations is developed, which is different from that used by Beltz and Rice. The stress field and the dislocation density field can be expressed as the first and second Chebyshev polynomial series respectively. Then the opening and slip displacements can be expanded as the trigonometric series. The Newton-Raphson Method is used to solve a set of nonlinear algebraic equations. The new governing equations allow us to extend the analyses to the case of dislocation emission. The calculation results for pure shearing, pure tension and combined tension and shear loading are given in detail.

The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations for describing the turbulent flow in a straight square duct are formulated with two different turbulence models. The governing equations are then expanded as a multi-deck structure in a plane perpendicular to the streamwise direction, with each deck characterized by its dominant physical forces as commonly carried out in analytical work using triple-deck expansion. The resulting equations are numerically integrated using higher polynomial (H-P) finite element technique for each cross-sectional plane to be followed by finite difference representation in the streamwise direction until a fully developed state is reached. The computed results using the two different turbulence models show fair agreement with each other, and concur with the vast body of available experimental data. There is also general agreement between our results and the recent numerical works anisotropic k-epsilon turbulence model.

Using a variational method, a general three-dimensional solution to the problem of a sliding spherical inclusion embedded in an infinite anisotropic medium is presented in this paper. The inclusion itself is also a general anisotropic elastic medium. The interface is treated as a thin interface layer with interphase anisotropic properties. The displacements in the matrix and the inclusion are expressed as polynomial series of the cartesian coordinate components. Using the virtual work principle, a set of linear algebraic equations about unknown coefficients are obtained. Then the general sliding spherical inclusion problem is accurately solved. Based on this solution, a self-consistent method for sliding polycrystals is proposed. Combining this with a two-dimensional model of an aggregate polycrystal, a systematic analysis of the mechanical behaviour of sliding polycrystals is given in detail. Numerical results are given to show the significant effect of grain boundary sliding on the overall mechanical properties of aggregate polycrystals.

The T. E. wave in cylindrical wavegulde filled with inhomogeneous plasma immersed in the external uniform longitudinal magnetic field is investigated. The analytic solution expressed in polynomial formed by cutting the confluent hypergeometric function is obtained. Furthermore the eigenfrequency of T. E. wave is obtained.

This paper deals with turbulence behavior inbenthalboundarylayers by means of large eddy simulation (LES). The flow is modeled by moving an infinite plate in an otherwise quiescent water with an oscillatory and a steady velocity components. The oscillatory one aims to simulate wave effect on the flow. A number of large-scale turbulence databases have been established, based on which we have obtained turbulencestatisticsof the boundarylayers, such as Reynolds stress, turbulence intensity, skewness and flatness ofturbulence, and temporal and spatial scales of turbulent bursts, etc. Particular attention is paid to the dependences of those statistics on two nondimensional parameters, namely the Reynolds number and the current-wave velocity ratio defined as the steady current velocity over the oscillatory velocity amplitude. It is found that the Reynolds stress and turbulence intensity profile differently from phase to phase, and exhibit two types of distributions in an oscillatory cycle. One is monotonic occurring during the time when current and wave-induced components are in the same direction, and the other inflectional occurring during the time when current and wave-induced components are in opposite directions. Current component makes an asymmetrical time series of Reynolds stress, as well as turbulence intensity, although the mean velocity series is symmetrical as a sine/cosine function. The skewness and flatness variations suggest that the turbulence distribution is not a normal function but approaches to a normal one with the increasing of Reynolds number and the current-wave velocity ratio as well. As for turbulent bursting, the dimensionless period and the mean area of all bursts per unit bed area tend to increase with Reynolds number and current-wave velocity ratio, rather than being constant as in steady channel flows.

A new method is presented here to analyse the Peierls-Nabarro model of an edge dislocation in a rectangular plate. The analysis is based on the superposition scheme and series expansions of complex potentials. The stress field and dislocation density field on the slip plane can be expressed as the first and the second Chebyshev polynomial series respectively. Two sets of governing equations are obtained on the slip plane and outer boundary of the rectangular plate respectively. Three numerical methods are used to solve the governing equations.

本文针对发展新一代步兵战车复合材料履带板所面临的关键问题,结合其实际受载特点,设计制备了冲击疲劳实验加载装置,并着重从实验设计及机理分析上进行细致深入的探索,揭示了Al_2O_3/LC_4复合材料冲击疲劳破坏的微观过程和机理。首先分别对SiC_P/LC_4、Al_2O_(3P)/LC_4 及基体 LC_4 进行了显微组织的观察与定量分析,并对其拉伸、三点弯曲破坏过程进行了在位观察,结合其断裂形貌的观察与分析,揭示出颗粒增强铝基复合材料断裂破坏的根本原因是颗粒的聚集及脆性相在晶界的严重偏聚。针对这一结论,给材料制备单位提出工艺改进意见。对工艺改进后制备的复合材料进行常规力学性能的测试,结果表明,其拉伸性能明显优于改进前制备的相应材料。为了进行冲击疲劳的实验研究,在分析步兵战车履带板实际受载特点的基础上,自行设计制备了冲击疲劳实验的加载装置。主要包括主体框架和测量系统,前者与小型振动系统配合使用可以实现冲击能量为 0.3J、冲击频率为 1Hz、冲击速度为 0.6m/s 的多次冲击实验;后者可以准确记录下任意时刻的冲击载荷波形及冲击疲劳载荷的循环数。为了考察颗粒与加载速率对复合材料疲劳机理的影响,实验研究了 Al_2O_3/LC_4 复合材料和 LC_4 纯基体材料在冲击疲劳和常规疲劳过程中裂纹的扩展过程及扩展速率。综合结果发现:与LC_4纯基体材料相比,Al_2O_3/LC_4复合材料疲劳裂纹扩展得更为迅速。复合材料中,由于颗粒的加入,两种疲劳方式下袭纹都发生严重偏转;裂纹经过颗粒时,多数是绕过,少数是切过颗粒;冲击疲劳裂纹扩展速率明显高于常规疲劳裂纹扩展速率。纯基体材料中,两种加载方式下,裂纹基本都以穿晶的方式扩展,裂纹常常表现为小锯齿状;冲击疲劳裂纹尖端的塑性变形程度比常规疲劳更大;冲击疲劳裂纹比常规疲劳裂纹更曲折,表现出多尺度的锯齿状(Zig-Zag)特征;冲击疲劳裂纹扩展速率高于常规疲劳的裂纹扩展速率。在基本实验的基础上,进一步对断口及裂纹扩展途径进行了微观观察和定量分析,最后综合全文的实验和统计结果,讨论了颗粒增强铝基复合材料的冲击疲劳机理。复合材料疲劳裂纹扩展速率的提高主要与裂纹的偏转有关,裂纹更倾向于沿着颗粒与基体的界面扩展;两种材料的疲劳裂纹扩展速率均随加载速率的增加而增加,呈现加载速率的反作用。加载方式的改变,一方面,由于冲击情况下载荷持续时间降低,使裂纹扩展速率降低;另一方面,加载速率的提高使得断裂韧性值降低,材料变脆,裂纹扩展速率升高。这两个方面相互影响,相互竞争,决定实际的裂纹扩展速率。两种材料中,不同加载速率下的疲劳裂纹扩展的微观机制基本一致,没有明显的本质区别。

The capacity degradation of bucket foundation in liquefied sand layer under cyclic loads such as equivalent dynamic ice-induced loads is studied. A simplified numerical model of liquefied sand layer has been presented based on the dynamic centrifuge experiment results. The ice-induced dynamic loads are modeled as equivalent sine cyclic loads, the liquefaction degree in different position of sand layer and effects of main factors are investigated. Subsequently, the sand resistance is represented by uncoupled, non-linear sand springs which describe the sub-failure behavior of the local sand resistance as well as the peak capacity of bucket foundation under some failure criterion. The capacity of bucket foundation is determined in liquefied sand layer and the rule of capacity degradation is analyzed. The capacity degradation in liquefied sand layer is analyzed comparing with that in non-liquefied sand layer. The results show that the liquefaction degree is 0.9 at the top and is only 0.06 at the bottom of liquefied sand layer. The numerical results are agreement well with the centrifugal experimental results. The value of the degradation of bucket capacity is 12% in numerical simulating whereas it is 17% in centrifugal experiments.

Using an unperturbed scattering theory, the characteristics of H atom photoionization are studied respectively by a linearly- and by a circularly- polarized one-cycle laser pulse sequence. The asymmetry for photoelectrons in two directions opposite to each other is investigated. It is found that the asymmetry degree varies with the carrier-envelope (CE) phase, laser intensity, as well as the kinetic energy of photoelectrons. For the linear polarization, the maximal ionization rate varies with the CE phase, and the asymmetry degree varies with the CE phase in a sine-like pattern. For the circular polarization, the maximal ionization rate keeps constant for various CE phases, but the variation of asymmetry degree is still in a sine-like pattern.

光瞳滤波器作为实现超分辨的基本元件之一,它的设计以及制作都非常重要。设计了一种正弦变化的振幅型光瞳滤波器,可以通过调节少量的参量实现各种不同的超分辨模式。选择正弦函数的周期以及光瞳中心点透过率变化两个参量来实现对最终超分辨效果的调节。数值计算结果表明:在整个人射光瞳上的透过率瞳函数分布具有0.5~2个正弦振幅周期时,较为合适。小于0.5个周期将不会有任何超分辨效果,大于2个周期超分辨效果反而变差。数值计算中还注意到,当周期数为整数时,斯特雷尔比将保持0.25不变。对正弦变化振幅型光瞳滤波器的计算结果,显示

A highly uniform multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber ring laser with an intracavity sine phase modulator is demonstrated. The flat output spectrum is achieved by optimizing the cavity structure, modulation amplitude, and frequency of the sine phase modulator. Fifteen lasing lines with wavelength spacing of 0.9 nm appear simultaneously and stably with power differences less than 2 dB and side-mode suppression ratio higher than 32 dB. In addition, the proposed cavity can support unidirectional operation without optical isolators. An output power difference of about 20 dB is realized between the counterclockwise and clockwise directions, which is almost independent of the pump power and lasing wavelengths. In this paper is described a novel technique for producing an electro-optical intensity synthesizer which can generate different periodic time domain waveforms through only sine or cosine wave applied-voltages. The synthesizer presented here consists of a series of stages between two polarizers, with each stage consisting of an electro-optic element and a compensator. Every electro-optical element has the same applied-voltage function but different azimuth angles and ratios between the longitudinal and transverse lengths. The main principle is the synthesis of an electro-optic effect and a polarization interference effect in the time domain. This technique is based on an expanded Fourier positive-direction searching algorithm, which can not only simplify the calculation process but also produces many choices of structural parameters for different waveforms generation. A three-stage synthesis of an electro-optical birefringent system for continuous square waveform is undertaken to prove the principle.

Topography of a granite surface has an effect on the vertical positioning of a wafer stage in a lithographic tool, when the wafer stage moves on the granite. The inaccurate measurement of the topography results in a bad leveling and focusing performance. In this paper, an in situ method to measure the topography of a granite surface with high accuracy is present. In this method, a high-order polynomial is set up to express the topography of the granite surface. Two double-frequency laser interferometers are used to measure the tilts of the wafer stage in the X- and Y-directions. From the sampling tilts information, the coefficients of the high-order polynomial can be obtained by a special algorithm. Based on the Collins integral formula, the analytic expressions of propagation of the coherent and the incoherent off-axis Hermite-cosh-Gaussian (HChG) beam combinations with rectangular symmetry passing through a paraxial first-order optical system are derived, and corresponding numerical examples are given and analysed. The resulting beam quality is discussed in terms of power in the bucket (PIB). The study suggests that the resulting beam cannot keep the initial intensity shape during the propagation and the beam quality for coherent mode is not always better than that for incoherent mode. Reviewing the numerical simulations of Gaussian, Hermite-Gaussian (HG) and cosh Gaussian (ChG) beam combinations indicates that the Hermite polynomial exerts a chief influence on the irradiance profile of composite beam and far field power concentration.
