The main factor influencing the tensile properties of surface nano-crystallized graded materials

The improved mechanical properties of surface nano-crystallized graded materials produced by surface severe plastic deformation ((SPD)-P-2) are generally owing to the effects of the refined structure, work-hardened region and compressive residual stress. However, during the (SPD)-P-2 process, residual stress is produced simultaneously with work-hardened region, the individual contribution of these two factors to the improved mechanical properties remains unclear. Numerical simulations are carried out in order to answer this question. It is found that work hardening predominates in improving the yield strength and the ultimate tensile strength of the surface nano-crystallized graded materials, while the influence of the residual stress mainly emerges at the initial stage of deformation and decreases the apparent elastic modulus of the surface nano-crystallized graded materials, which agrees well with the experimental results. Charge stripping accumulation of light heavy ions in HIRFL-CSR main ring

The charge stripping injection method has been adopted for the accumulation of light heavy ions in HIRFL-CSR. This method has some special requirements for the accelerating particles, and at the same time the structure of the injection orbit has to be changed. In this paper, the design of the orbit has been presented, as well as the calculation of the beam line matching. According to the result of commissioning, stripping injection can accumulate the beam to a higher current.

主环二极铁电源是兰州重离子加速器冷却储存环(HIRFL-CSR)工程的关键设备和指标要求最高的一台电源,采用了独特的拓扑和控制策略。为满足峰值功率3.15MW(3kA,1.45kV)的输出能力和快脉冲要求,采用了晶闸管整流并联脉宽调制补偿单元的主电路拓扑结构和特殊的控制方式,这套综合方案确保电源满足了全部技术指标。本文介绍了该拓扑结构的原理和优势,讨论了为满足±2×10-4的跟踪误差的要求而采用的控制拓扑和双基准给定的原理,并简介了调试过程和近年来的运行和改进情况。

An integrating current transformer for fast extraction from the HIRFL-CSR main ring

For any experiment that uses the beam of an accelerator, monitoring the beam intensity is always art important concern. It is particularly useful if one can continuously measure the beam current without disturbing the beam. We report here on test experiments for an Integrating Current Transformer (ICT) used to measure fast extraction beams from the HIRFL-CSR main ring (CSRm). The laboratory tests and beam intensity measurement results are presented in this paper. The influence of the kicker noise is also analyzed.

The Main Path to C, N, O Elements in Big Bang Nucleosynthesis

The production of C, N, O elements in a standard big bang nucleosynthesis scenario is investigated. Using the up-to-date data of nuclear reactions in BBN, in particular the Li-8 (n, gamma) Li-9 which has been measured in China Institute of Atomic Energy, a full nucleosynthesis network calculation of BBN is carried out. Our calculation results show that the abundance of C-12 is increased for an order of magnitude after addition of the reaction chain Li-8(n, gamma) Li-9(alpha, n) B-12(beta) C-12, which was neglected in previous studies. We find that this sequence provides the main channel to convert the light elements into C, N, O in standard BBN.
