Study of high performance Re-timing using a 40 Gb/s hybrid-integrated mach-zehnder all-optical regenerator

We experimentally show that a hybrid-integrated Mach-Zehnder switch with a high performance gate profile allows retiming of optical signals with an accuracy of 500-700fs even if the input timing jitter is increased to 3ps. © 2004 Optical Society of America.

MIMO system capacity improvements using radio-over-fibre distributed antenna system technology

The effect of antenna separation in a 3×3 MIMO system using RoF DAS technology is investigated. Larger antenna separation is found to improve the throughput due to reduced channel correlation and improved SNR. © 2011 Optical Society of America.

High coupling in novel 2D-lattice distributed reflector laser gratings

It is shown that 2D lattice gratings, despite being placed outside the waveguide region, exhibit sufficiently strong coupling coefficients that optical modes rapidly couple transversely into the etched grating region, yielding high coupling coefficients of 270cm-1. This performance allows mode-hop-free lasing operation in DBR structures.

Self-configuring intelligent control for short reach 100Gb/s optical packet routing

An advanced control architecture is proposed which recognizes and configures new connections, automatically performs calibration and initiates the routing of 100Gb/s data packets. The scheme is proposed for high capacity, low overhead, short reach networking. © 2005 Optical Society of America.
