[EN]The purpose of this project is to study and analyse signals of digital television, provided for mobile services, by using LDM technology. In order to achieve this, it will be needed the use of different transmission configurations (modulation, code rate…) suitable for this type of service, as well as propagation channels showing movement situations, such as pedestrian or mobile. This project comes as a response of recent research in LDM technology, which has been proposed as a Physical Layer technology to the ATSC 3.0 Next Generation Digital TV standard.

[Es]En este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se estudia el comportamiento de LDM (Layered Division Multiplexing) para la radiodifusión digital terrestre en los casos de recepción fijo y portátil. Para ello, se adapta un programa que recrea, de la forma más fiel posible, la capa física del sistema LDM. Este programa consta de múltiples parámetros que determinan las características de funcionamiento del sistema. Una vez adaptado, el programa se utiliza para simular el comportamiento del sistema en diferentes entornos de trabajo o canales (Gauss, Rice y Rayleigh) consiguiendo unos resultados que nos permiten evaluar las prestaciones del sistema en cada entorno.

Azken urteetan, Zaztaparrak asti taldea Arratia eta Zeberio lurraldeetako aisialdian liderra bilakatu da, izan ere, arlo honi dagozkion lan-esparru gehienetan (udalekuak, ludotekak, gazte espazio ezberdinak…) indar gehien duen elkartea da. Egoera honek, helburu berriak amestea ahalbidetu dio elkarteari eta, horrela, asmo handiko proiektuak aurrera eramateko aukera sortu da. Horretarako, txosten honen bitartez, Zaztaparrak asti taldearen plan estrategikoa aurkezten da, hurrengo urteetan izan beharreko jokabidea eta programazioa aurkezten duena alegia. Plan honen bitartez, jarduera fisikoaren promozioa helburu izanik, elkarteak, aisialdi aktiboago bat bultzatzen du. Helburu honek, turismo aktiboaren esparruko enpresekin komunikazio kanalak osatzea bilatzen du eta horrela, eskaintza aktibo horren parte bilakatzera eramango du. Horretaz guztiaz gainera, bere ekintza eremua Euskal Herri osora zabaltzea bilatzen du, izan ere, elkartea sortzerakoan Arratiako bailaran zeuden beharrak gure herrialdeko beste hainbat txokotan ere aurkitzen dira eta, horrela, Zaztaparrak asti taldeak aisialdi elkarte ezberdinen elkarlana koordinatzea du helburu. Hala, jarraian, elkarteak eman nahi duen salto kualitatibo hau bideratuko duen plan estrategikoa aurkezten da.

[EU]Enpresak sortzeko UPV/EHUko lehen programek eta programa horietatik sortutako lehen spin-offek hamabost urte baino gehiagoko ibilbidea egin dute jada. Denbora tarte horretan, hain zuzen, UPV/EHUtik hainbat spin-off sortu dira. Logikak agintzen duen moduan, enpresa bakoitzak garapen zehatza izan du, eta gaur egun bizi duen egoera bakarra da. Hala nola, enpresa bakoitzak unibertsitatearekin egun duen harremana ere desberdina da. Bada, ikerlan honen helburu nagusia da, alde batetik, UPV/EHUko egungo testuinguru ekintzailea aztertzea; eta bestetik, unibertsitateak spin-offen sorrera eta garapenean izan duen eragina ikertzea. Horretarako, enpresak sortzeko UPV/EHUko programaren baten babespean sortutako 40 spin-off aztertu dira, web formulario bidez bidalitako inkesta baten bitartez.

Smart Grids are becoming a reality all over the world. Nowadays, the research efforts for the introduction and deployment of these grids are mainly focused on the development of the field of Smart Metering. This emerging application requires the use of technologies to access the significant number of points of supply (PoS) existing in the grid, covering the Low Voltage (LV) segment with the lowest possible costs. Power Line Communications (PLC) have been extensively used in electricity grids for a variety of purposes and, of late, have been the focus of renewed interest. PLC are really well suited for quick and inexpensive pervasive deployments. However, no LV grid is the same in any electricity company (utility), and the particularities of each grid evolution, architecture, circumstances and materials, makes it a challenge to deploy Smart Metering networks with PLC technologies, with the Smart Grid as an ultimate goal. This paper covers the evolution of Smart Metering networks, together with the evolution of PLC technologies until both worlds have converged to project PLC-enabled Smart Metering networks towards Smart Grid. This paper develops guidelines over a set of strategic aspects of PLC Smart Metering network deployment based on the knowledge gathered on real field; and introduces the future challenges of these networks in their evolution towards the Smart Grid.

Background: 5'-deoxy-5'-methylthioadenosine (MTA) is an endogenous compound produced through the metabolism of polyamines. The therapeutic potential of MTA has been assayed mainly in liver diseases and, more recently, in animal models of multiple sclerosis. The aim of this study was to determine the neuroprotective effect of this molecule in vitro and to assess whether MTA can cross the blood brain barrier (BBB) in order to also analyze its potential neuroprotective efficacy in vivo. Methods: Neuroprotection was assessed in vitro using models of excitotoxicity in primary neurons, mixed astrocyte-neuron and primary oligodendrocyte cultures. The capacity of MTA to cross the BBB was measured in an artificial membrane assay and using an in vitro cell model. Finally, in vivo tests were performed in models of hypoxic brain damage, Parkinson's disease and epilepsy. Results: MTA displays a wide array of neuroprotective activities against different insults in vitro. While the data from the two complementary approaches adopted indicate that MTA is likely to cross the BBB, the in vivo data showed that MTA may provide therapeutic benefits in specific circumstances. Whereas MTA reduced the neuronal cell death in pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus and the size of the lesion in global but not focal ischemic brain damage, it was ineffective in preserving dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra in the 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-pyridine (MPTP)-mice model. However, in this model of Parkinson's disease the combined administration of MTA and an A(2A) adenosine receptor antagonist did produce significant neuroprotection in this brain region. Conclusion: MTA may potentially offer therapeutic neuroprotection.

Temperature-sensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPA) nanohydrogels were synthesized by nanoemulsion polymerization in water-in-oil systems. Several cross-linking degrees and the incorporation of acrylic acid as comonomer at different concentrations were tested to produce nanohydrogels with a wide range of properties. The physicochemical properties of PNIPA nanohydrogels, and their relationship with the swelling-collapse behaviour, were studied to evaluate the suitability of PNIPA nanoparticles as smart delivery systems (for active packaging). The swelling-collapse transition was analyzed by the change in the optical properties of PNIPA nanohydrogels using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. The thermodynamic parameters associated with the nanohydrogels collapse were calculated using a mathematical approach based on the van't Hoff analysis, assuming a two-state equilibrium (swollen to collapsed). A mathematical model is proposed to predict both the thermally induced collapse, and the collapse induced by the simultaneous action of two factors (temperature and pH, or temperature and organic solvent concentration). Finally, van't Hoff analysis was compared with differential scanning calorimetry. The results obtained allow us to solve the problem of determining the molecular weight of the structural repeating unit in cross-linked NIPA polymers, which, as we show, can be estimated from the ratio of the molar heat capacity (obtained from the van't Hoff analysis) to the specific heat capacity (obtained from calorimetric measurements).

[ES] La iglesia de Santa María tiene una planta de unos 22x18 metros y cuenta con tres pórticos (sur, oeste y norte) así como una espadaña exenta. Adyacente al sudeste se encuentra la ermita de Santa Lucía. Las excavaciones arqueológicas de dos zonas de unos 6 x 3 metros en el interior y el exterior de la iglesia sirven como hilo conductor a las jornadas de puertas abiertas al público.

Several pseudo-binary RxR2-x'Fe-17 alloys (with R = Y, Ce, Pr, Gd and Dy) were synthesized with rhombohedral Th2Zn17-type crystal structure determined from x-ray and neutron powder diffraction. The choice of compositions was done with the aim of tuning the Curie temperature (T-C) in the 270 +/- 20 K temperature range, in order to obtain the maximum magneto-caloric effect around room temperature. The investigated compounds exhibit broad isothermal magnetic entropy changes, Delta S-M(T), with moderate values of the refrigerant capacity, even though the values of Delta S-M(Peak) are relatively low compared with those of the R2Fe17 compounds with R = Pr or Nd. The reduction on the Delta S-M(Peak) is explained in terms of the diminution in the saturation magnetization value. Furthermore, the Delta S-M(T) curves exhibit a similar caret-like behavior, suggesting that the magneto-caloric effect is mainly governed by the Fe-sublattice. A single master curve for Delta S-M/Delta S-M(Peak)(T) under different values of the magnetic field change are obtained for each compound by rescaling of the temperature axis.

Se trata de un estudio repartido en 3 bloques: en la primera parte se hace una breve referenciaa la regulación llevada a cabo por parte de las Naciones Unidas y la Unión Europea sobre el asunto, para así llegar y comprender mejor el concepto de Violencia de Género ofrecido por la legislación española y la transcendencia del fenómeno violento en la esfera laboral y su alcance en la CAPV. El segundo bloque, que es el núcleo del trabajo, contiene aquellas medidas, de discriminación positiva, que tratan de compensar si se puede hablar de ese modo, la delicada situación de las víctimas de violencia de género. De ahí que no vaya a insistirse tanto en las actuaciones directas de protección de la víctima de violencia, ni de aquellas otras que deban tomarse contra la persona que ejerce la violencia sobre la mujer maltratada. En el tercero y último bloque se hace una referencia a la mujer inmigrante en situación administrativa irregular - víctima de violencia de género, teniendo en cuenta a aplicabilidad de la ley de extranjería.

In the present study we have investigated the population genetic structure of albacore (Thunnus alalunga, Bonnaterre 1788) and assessed the loss of genetic diversity, likely due to overfishing, of albacore population in the North Atlantic Ocean. For this purpose, 1,331 individuals from 26 worldwide locations were analyzed by genotyping 75 novel nuclear SNPs. Our results indicated the existence of four genetically homogeneous populations delimited within the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Current definition of stocks allows the sustainable management of albacore since no stock includes more than one genetic entity. In addition, short-and long-term effective population sizes were estimated for the North Atlantic Ocean albacore population, and results showed no historical decline for this population. Therefore, the genetic diversity and, consequently, the adaptive potential of this population have not been significantly affected by overfishing.
