Along the coastal zone of Nha-Trang, Vietnamese fishermen adopted a special net, Cai ró. This machine (probably coming from China), is used in many countries of Southeast Asia. In Vietnam it is widespread from the north to the south with significant changes. The fixed gear described here is the one generally used in the southern part of Central Vietnam and especially in the province of Nha-Trang.

The species of Scylla found in Vietnam have been studied in relation to the systematic revision made by Estampador, and to establish the distinctive morphological characters of the species. The status of four forms is discussed: Scylla oceanica, Sc. tranquebarica, Sc. serrata, and Sc. serrata var. paramamosain.

Since 1949, The Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography has undertaken an inventory of Vietnamese marine fauna with reference to its collection kept in Nha Trang. The collection contains about 250 species of Brachyura. Rare species of particular interest are described in this note.

Note sur Tetralia nigrifrons Dana 1852

In the genus Tetralia of the family Trapeziinoe, the authors have separated or put in synonymy T. nigrifrons Dana with T. glaberrima Herbst. A study in details of morphologic characteristics of T. nigrifrons has demonstrated that the two species are different and it was an error putting the first in synonymy with the second. But it is no sure that the so-called T. nigrifrons is the species of Dana (1852).

Observations sur Orthopagurus Harmsi Gordon

During 1955 researching activities on Hapalocarcinidés in the Nhatrang Bay, the author collected blocks of Montipora verrucosa, genre Hexacoralliaire, and he found an Orthopagurus Harmsi Gordon, never harvested on the coral before. In this paper the author gave a detailed description.

Eumedoninae du Viet-Nam (Crustacea) (avec un bibliographie de la sous-famille)

This study provides elements for the revision of the subfamily Eumedoninae. The detailed description of the specimens led to the presence of characters that are common to different genera and many species. A bibliography and a list of genera and species of the subfamily identified in this bibliography is given.
