La pêche, y compris l'aquaculture, apporte une contribution fondamentale à l'alimentation, à l'emploi, aux loisirs, au commerce et au bien-être économique des populations du monde entier, qu'il s'agisse des générations présentes ou futures, et devrait, par conséquent, être conduite de manière responsable. Le présent Code définit des principes et des normes internationales de comportement pour garantir des pratiques responsables en vue d'assurer effectivement la conservation, la gestion et le développement des ressources bioaquatiques, dans le respect des écosystèmes et de la biodiversité. Le Code reconnaît l'importance nutritionnelle, économique, sociale, environnementale et culturelle de la pêche et les intérêts de tous ceux qui sont concernés par ce secteur. Le Code prend en considération les caractéristiques biologiques des ressources et de leur environnement, ainsi que les intérêts des consommateurs et autres utilisateurs. Vision 2050: changement climatique, pêche et aquaculture en Afrique de l’Ouest Du 14 au 16 avril 2010, Dakar, Sénégal

Ce rapport présente les activités et les résultats de l’atelier Vision 2050: Changement climatique, pêche et aquaculture en Afrique de l’Ouest. Les objectifs de l’atelier étaient de discuter les questions critiques et les incertitudes auxquelles est confronté le secteur de la pêche et de l’aquaculture au Ghana, au Sénégal et en Mauritanie, d’élaborer des scénarios sectoriels pour 2050 et de discuter de l’implication de ces scénarios dans le contexte du changement climatique pour ces pays et la région ouest africaine.

Analyse des effets de l'ouverture du chenal de Grand Bassam (estuaire du fleuve Comoé, Lagune Ebrié) sur la macrofaune benthique lagunaire

This paper presents the results of a comparative study of three series of samples collected in the area near the Bassam channel before, six and twenty months after its opening in September 1987. Observed effects are the decrease in the abundance and the modification of the benthic macrofauna composition. These effects appeared to be definitive, without recovery of the most abundant species Corbula trigona. Most differences noted in the population structure are due to the increase of the salinity and at a least degree to the modification of the nature of the sediment.

Variations saisonnières des facteurs hydrologiques et du biovolume microalgal benthique au sein d'un habitat artificiel (acadja-enclos) dans la lagune Ebrié: site d'Adjapoté

This paper presents the results of a comparative study of chemical and physical characteristics (temperature, oxygen, salinity, turbidity, pH, nutrient: phosphates, nitrates, nitrites, ammoniac) within the extensive aquaculture structure (acadja-enclosure or artificial habitats for fishes) and in the surrounding water. Biological characteristics of the periphyton growing on bamboos from acadja-enclosure were also described.

L'oxygene au large de Grand Bassam (Cote d'Ivoire)

The present paper deals with the variations of the dissolved oxygen content off Grand Bassam (11 miles east of Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire), during nearly five years (March 1966 to September 1970). Although we find in general the low oxygen values near the bottom, the dissolved oxygen content is at its absolute minimum during the upwelling. There is a good correlation between the Secchi depth and the depth of the well ventilated layer. About 10% of surface irradiance is found at the layer where the dissolved oxygen content equals 80% of the oxygen content found at surface.

La pêche au chalut en Côte d'Ivoire. Maximum de rendement économique

This paper analyses the relations between effort and catch per unit effort of trawlers which worked in Côte d'Ivoire from Jan 1966 to Dec 1970. A fishing effort permitting to exploit fishery in the best rentability conditions is proposed.

Évaluation de la production primaire et de la chlorophylle à partir des données hydrologiques. Application au Golfe de Guinée

Quantitative relationships between nitrate distribution, chlorophyll and primary integrated values have been used to evaluate the phytoplankton abundance in the Gulf of Guinea. Data of Guinee I cruise (May-July 1968) of the R.V. Jean Charcot have been used. They show a large oligotrophic convergence area (< 250 mg C/m2/J). A relationship previously found between the depth of the nitracline (first level where the nitrate appears) and the depth of the thermal maximum gradient is confirmed. From a practical point of view, this relationship is very useful since it allows, when the biological or chemical data are not available, a rough estimation of phytoplankton integrated biomass and production in the water column, from a temperature profile.
