Since 1974 we have been collecting statistics on the main fishing gears in the ivorian lagoons. In order to get good estimation of the catches, it is often more convenient to measure the fishes and to convert this data into weights through a length-weight relationship. In this work we computed this relation for 43 species found in the Aby and Ebrié lagoons.

The present document represents a synthesis of the scientific knowledge gathered by the CRO in the years 1985-1990, and related to the proliferation of aquatic macrophytes, commonly called floating aquatic weeds, in the Ebrié lagoon.

Six populations of Ethmalosa fimbriata and six of Sarotherodon melanotheron have been analysed using enzymatic electrophoresis. The study of gene flow intensity in these two species indicate that: - In Ethmalosa fimbriata, a migratory species with high fecundity and pelagic eggs, there is a high gene flow between populations (3 Nm 83). - In Sarotherodon melanotheron, a sedentary and mouthbrooder species with low fecundity, there is a low gene flow between populations (1 Nm 4).

In the Indo-pacific region, a study on Stomatopodes revealed two new species: Squilla carinata and Gonodactilus tweediei. Here the author gives a brief description.

The species of Scylla found in Vietnam have been studied in relation to the systematic revision made by Estampador, and to establish the distinctive morphological characters of the species. The status of four forms is discussed: Scylla oceanica, Sc. tranquebarica, Sc. serrata, and Sc. serrata var. paramamosain.

Since 1949, The Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography has undertaken an inventory of Vietnamese marine fauna with reference to its collection kept in Nha Trang. The collection contains about 250 species of Brachyura. Rare species of particular interest are described in this note.

On the corals of the Nhatrang bay in Vietnam, eight new species of Hapalocarcinidae have been discovered. This paper gives a brief description.

This note briefly describes four new species of Hapalocarcinidae: Cryptochirus tri, Troglocarcinus edmonsoni, Troglocarcinus sheni, Troglocarcinus stimpsoni

The collections of the Oceanographic Institute of Vietnam include several species of hermit crabs of the genus Calcinus Dana. Three of keys were studied by Fize and Serene (1955): C. herbsti Man, C. gaimardi H. Milne Edwards and C. latens Randall . The seventy specimens belong to four species. The first one, C. minutus Buytendijk, was described by Indonesia in 1937; the second one, represented by a single small specimen is related to C. spicatus Forest. Finally, two other are Calcinus vachonis sp. November and Colcinus pulcher sp. nov.

The present paper completes the authors’ studies (1958) on the species of Chlorodopsis of Viet-Nam. It gives observations on the new specimens collected previously and of a new species. It exposes the results of the observations on specimens communicated to the authors by the Museum of Paris, the Indian Museum of Calcutta and the Bishop Museum of Honolulu. These specimens include the syntypes of Chl. melanochira and Chl. Woodmasoni and some samples of another species not yet recorded on the Viet-Nam seashores. The taxonomic position of various species is revised and species maintained by Balss (1938) in the genus Pilodius are included in the genus Chlorodopsis. The authors give a new key to separate all the species of the genus Chlorodopsis.

Few observations on the first male Pleopode of the genus Actea are available. Examining the possibility of using their characteristics for a taxonomic work, the authors expose the obtained data on the subject and describe the Pleopods of 18 species of Actea collected on the Viet-Nam seashores. A tentative to define the different types of Pleopods gives a new argument to consider and recognize the genus Banareia as a distinct genus of Actea.

The authors have identified 18 species of the genus Carpilodes, collected on the Viet-Nam sea shores; three species and one variety are new. A key for the identification of the thirty species and two varieties of the genus is associated with the description of the new forms. The pleopods 1 of the male for the great part of the species identified in Viet-Nam sea shores are figured.
