Headjogs: Highlighting success through innovation

Headjogs is a well established hair academy within the Essex and East of London region. This work-based learning provider is run by Stephen Daly, Director, and Debbie Scott. Around six months ago, Debbie participated in the e-Guides programme, where she gained the expertise to implement innovative technology into the curriculum. Since then they have received Association of Learning Providers (ALP) Learner Innovation Grant funding with which they plan to reinforce their innovative approach to hairdressing.

How can IT professionals make the step into leadership roles?

Last year, Jisc began work with EDUCAUSE - the US organisation for IT professionals in higher education - to find out the skillset of the CIO of the future. One of the findings of our project was that many aspiring technology leaders find it difficult to make the step up. Louisa Dale, director Jisc group sector intelligence, talks through the learnings and opens a call for IT professionals to get involved in the next phase of work.

Resilient internet connectivity at Myerscough College

Myerscough College, a land-based further and higher education college in the north west, is one of the approximately 160 further education colleges in England to take additional connections to Jisc’s Janet network.
