En el artículo se presenta un algoritmo para la definición de las trayectorias a seguir en la recogida de pacas. El método propuesto supone ahorros en torno al 35% frente al procedimiento que habitualmente se ha venido utilizando.

This paper presents a mapping method for wide row crop fields. The resulting map shows the crop rows and weeds present in the inter-row spacing. Because field videos are acquired with a camera mounted on top of an agricultural vehicle, a method for image sequence stabilization was needed and consequently designed and developed. The proposed stabilization method uses the centers of some crop rows in the image sequence as features to be tracked, which compensates for the lateral movement (sway) of the camera and leaves the pitch unchanged. A region of interest is selected using the tracked features, and an inverse perspective technique transforms the selected region into a bird’s-eye view that is centered on the image and that enables map generation. The algorithm developed has been tested on several video sequences of different fields recorded at different times and under different lighting conditions, with good initial results. Indeed, lateral displacements of up to 66% of the inter-row spacing were suppressed through the stabilization process, and crop rows in the resulting maps appear straight

El cumplimiento de los objetivos agrotécnicos de los cultivos de raíces y tubérculos exige que la labor de surcado configure un caballón que permita el trabajo de los posteriores aperos que participan en las demás labores de cultivo. En la agricultura cubana se emplean diversos tipos de surcadores que difieren en las características de los elementos aporcadores. Este hecho afecta a la capacidad de trabajo del conjunto tractor-apero y por extensión en el consumo de combustible y el rendimiento del cultivo. El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido fundamentar el empleo del apero más adecuado para la labor de surcado en cultivos de raíces y tubérculos (patata, boniato, yuca) en Fluvisoles, teniendo en cuenta el comportamiento de las dimensiones y forma del caballón, cualidades tecnológicas explotativas del conjunto tractor-apero, consumo energético del proceso productivo y el rendimiento agrícola. Los tratamientos considerados estuvieron determinados por la utilización del surcador fertilizador IIMA-BALDAN 4.500 (T1), y los surcadores aporcadores SA-5 (T2) y SA-3 (T3). En los tres tratamientos se alcanzó un perfil de la sección transversal del caballón de configuración cóncavo-convexo. El surcador BALDAN logró el mejor comportamiento de los indicadores tecnológico-explotativos lo que se tradujo en la mayor capacidad de trabajo de 1,36 ha h-1 y el menor consumo de combustible de 5,38 L ha-1. Este mismo tratamiento proporcionó el mayor rendimiento medio de los cultivos superando en un 43,2% al del surcador SA-5 y en un 57,9% al del surcador SA-3. Desde el punto de vista energético T1, obtuvo una mejor eficiencia energética superior en un 43,5% a la del tratamiento T2, y en un 57,1% a la del tratamiento T3. ABSTRACT The achievement of agrotechnical objectives in the cultivation of roots and tubers demands the plow through activity creates a ridge to allow the work of subsequent farming tools participating in other cultivation works. In Cuban Agriculture various kinds of furrowers are used which differ in the characteristics of their earth up elements. This fact affects work capacity of the tractor-farming tool combination and by extension to fuel consumption and cultivation yield. The aim of this work has been to support the use of the most accurate farming tool in the plow through activity for the cultivation of roots and tubers (potato, sweet potato, cassava) in Fluvisoils, taking into account the behaviour of the ridge´s dimensions and shape, technologic-explotative qualities of the tractor-farming tool combination, energy consumption of the productive process and agricultural yield. The treatments considered were determined by the use of fertlizing furrower IIMA-BALDAN 4.500 (T1), and the earth up furrowers SA-5 (T2) and SA-3 (T3). During the three treatments a transverse section profile of the ridge under concave-convex configuration was obtained. The furrower BALDAN achieved the best behaviour of the technologic-explotative indicators, which was translated into the largest work capacity of 1,36 ha h-1 and the smallest fuel consumption of 5,38 L ha-1. This treatment also provided the biggest average yield of the cultivation, overcoming in a 43,2% the furrower SA-5 and furrower SA-3 in a 57,9%. From the energetic point of view T1 gained better energetic efficiency than treatment T2 in a 43,5% and treatment T3 in a 57,1%.

Los tractores que quiero analizar son los nuevos de la Serie 3600, tractores Massey Ferguson. La serie 3600, que sustituye a la prestigiosa 3400, se presentó a nivel mundial en FIMA 2008 de Zaragoza. He tenido la suerte de probar un tractor que pertenece al tipo de los tractores que me gustan (los pequeños: viñeros, fruteros, estrechos…), y ahora tengo un problema: ¿Cómo sintetizar en éstas pocas páginas lo bueno que ofrecen estos tractores?

Traction prediction modelling, a key factor in farm tractor design, has been driven by the need to find the answer to this question without having to build physical prototypes. A wide range of theories and their respective algorithms can be used in such predictions. The “Tractors and Tillage” research team at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, which engages, among others, in traction prediction for farm tractors, has developed a series of programs based on the cone index as the parameter representative of the terrain. With the software introduced in the present paper, written in Visual Basic, slip can be predicted in two- and four-wheel drive tractors using any one of four models. It includes databases for tractors, front tyres, rear tyres and working conditions (soil cone index and drawbar pull exerted). The results can be exported in spreadsheet format.

The adequate combination of reduced tillage and crop rotation could increase the viability of dry land agriculture in Mediterrenean zones. Crop simulation models can support to examine various tillage-rotation combinations and explore management scenarios. The decision support system for agrotechnology transfer (DSSAT) (Hoogenboom et al., 2010) provides a suite of crop models suitable for this task. The objective of this work was to simulate the effects of two tillage systems, conventional tillage (ConvT) and no tillage (NoT), and three crop rotations, continuous cereal (CC), fallow-cereal (FallowC) and legume-cereal (LegumeC), under dry conditions, on the cereal yield, soil organic carbon (SOC) and nitrogen (SON) in a 15-year experiment, comparing these simulations with field observations.

Crop simulation models allow analyzing various tillage-rotation combinations and exploring management scenarios. This study was conducted to test the DSSAT (Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer) modelling system in rainfed semiarid central Spain. The focus is on the combined effect of tillage system and winter cereal-based rotations (cereal/legume/fallow) on the crop yield and soil quality. The observed data come from a 16-year field experiment. The CERES and CROPGRO models, included in DSSAT v4.5, were used to simulate crop growth and yield, and DSSAT- CENTURY was used in the soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil nitrogen (SN) simulations. Genetic coefficients were calibrated using part of the observed data. Field observations showed that barley grain yield was lower for continuous cereal (BB) than for vetch (VB) and fallow (FB) rotations for both tillage systems. The CERES-Barley model also reflected this trend. The model predicted higher yield in the conventional tillage (CT) than in the no tillage (NT) probably due to the higher nitrogen availability in the CT, shown in the simulations. The SOC and SN in the top layer only, were higher in NT than in CT, and decreased with depth in both simulated and observed values. These results suggest that CT-VB and CT-FB were the best combinations for the dry land conditions studied. However, CT presented lower SN and SOC content than NT. This study shows how models can be a useful tool for assessing and predicting crop growth and yield, under different management systems and under specific edapho-climatic conditions. La mejora del comportamiento aerodinámico de vehículos pesados en la carretera ha adquirido una mayor importancia estos últimos años debido a la crisis y su consecuente aumento del precio de los combustibles. Dado que una reducción en la resistencia aerodinámica del vehículo conlleva un menor empleo de combustible, el objetivo de este proyecto es realizar un estudio paramétrico del conjunto tractor-tráiler mediante la mecánica de fluidos computacional (CFD) para así obtener la geometría que proporciona un menor gasto de combustible cuando ésta es expuesta a viento frontal. La influencia de 3 parámetros, que son la separación existente entre cabina y remolque, la altura del remolque y el radio de curvatura de las aristas frontales de la cabina, es analizada en este estudio dividido en varias etapas que implican el uso de programas específicos como son: la parametrización y creación de las geometrías en 3D que es llevada a cabo mediante CATIA, el mallado del dominio (realizado con Gambit) y resolución de las ecuaciones mediante FLUENT. Finalmente se obtendrá una relación entre la resistencia aerodinámica (representada mediante el coeficiente de arrastre) y la combinación de los 3 parámetros, que nos permitirá decidir que geometría es la óptima. Abstract The improvement of the heavy vehicle’s aerodynamic behavior on the road has gained a great importance for these last years because of the economic crisis and the consequent increase of the price of the fuels. Due to the fact that a reduction in the aerodynamic resistance of the vehicle involves using a smaller amount of fuel, the objective of this project is to carry out a parametric study about the ensemble tractor-trailer by computational fluid dynamics methods (CFD) in order to obtain the geometry which expense of fuel is the lowest when it’s exposed to frontal wind. The influence of the three parameters, which are the space between cab and trailer, the height of the trailer and the curvature of the frontal cab edges, is analysed in this study which is divided into different parts involving specific programs: choosing the parameters and building the geometries, which is done by using CATIA, the mesh is built by Gambit, and the program equations-solver is FLUENT. Finally a ratio between aerodynamic resistance and a combination of the three parameters will be obtained and it will allow us to choose the best geometry.
