Recently, the Semantic Web has experienced signicant advancements in standards and techniques, as well as in the amount of semantic information available online. Even so, mechanisms are still needed to automatically reconcile semantic information when it is expressed in dierent natural languages, so that access to Web information across language barriers can be improved. That requires developing techniques for discovering and representing cross-lingual links on the Web of Data. In this paper we explore the different dimensions of such a problem and reflect on possible avenues of research on that topic.

Hansbreen is a tidewater glacier in Svalbard, with grounded tongue, about 16 km in length and ca. 2.5 km in width at its tongue. The calving front position has shown, over the recent decades, a general retreating trend, often rather smooth but with some occasional abrupt changes. We apply a full-Stokes model of glacier dynamics, incorporating a crevasse-depth calving model, with the aim of reproducing the glacier front positions observed since 1936 and analyzing the sensitivity of the model to environmental parameters.

Lift and velocity circulation around airfoils are two aspects of the same phenomenon when airfoils are not stalled and the Kutta—Joukowski theorem applies. This theorem establishes a linear dependence between lift and circulation, which breaks when stalling occurs. As the angle of attack increases beyond this point, the circulation vanishes. Since the circulation determines to a great extent the position of the forward stagnation point on an airfoil, the measurement of this position is an easy and simple way to determine the circulation, which is of help in understanding the role of the latter in the generation of aerodynamic forces on airfoils.

In this work is addressed the topic of estimation of velocity and acceleration from digital position data. It is presented a review of several classic methods and implemented with real position data from a low cost digital sensor of a hydraulic linear actuator. The results are analyzed and compared. It is shown that static methods have a limited bandwidth application, and that the performance of some methods may be enhanced by adapting its parameters according to the current state.
