It is known that the CamassaHolm (CH) equation describes pseudo-spherical surfaces and that therefore its integrability properties can be studied by geometrical means. In particular, the CH equation admits nonlocal symmetries of pseudo-potential type: the standard quadratic pseudo-potential associated with the geodesics of the pseudo-spherical surfaces determined by (generic) solutions to CH, allows us to construct a covering of the equation manifold of CH on which nonlocal symmetries can be explicitly calculated. In this article, we present the Lie algebra of (first-order) nonlocal -symmetries for the CH equation, and we show that this algebra contains a semidirect sum of the loop algebra over sl(2,R) and the centerless Virasoro algebra. As applications, we compute explicit solutions, we construct a Darboux transformation for the CH equation, and we recover its recursion operator. We also extend our results to the associated CamassaHolm equation introduced by J. Schiff.

In this paper, the results of six years of research in engineering education, in the application of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) to improve the performance of the students in the subject Analysis of Circuits of Telecommunication Engineering, are analysed taking into consideration the fact that there would be hidden variables that both separate students into subgroups and show the connection among several basic subjects such as Analysis of Circuits (AC) and Mathematics (Math). The discovery of these variables would help us to explain the characteristics of the students through the teaching and learning methodology, and would show that there are some characteristics that instructors do not take into account but that are of paramount importance

Industriales Research Meeting 2016 (IRM16) is an event to show the research activities at the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). The main purpose of this event is to present the ongoing research carried out by professors and researchers of the Institutes, Research Centres, Research Groups and Departments of this School, through funded research projects in close collaboration with public and private institutions and companies, some of them from IBEX-35. This book contains the 138 posters presented from different branches of engineering such as: acoustic, aerospace, bioengineering, chemical, electrical, electronics, automation, energy, environmental, management and industrial organization, laser technology and industrial organization, laser technology and applications, materials, mathematics, statistics, mechanics, manufacturing, structures, nuclear technology, seismic, vehicles and railways.
