The opening of new windows on the façade is proposed as a refurbishment strategy in an existing building in Málaga to facilitate cross ventilation of dwellings. The building is a residential block of 140 public housing units for rent for people with low income in Málaga (Spain), property of the City Council. By modeling with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), eleven configurations of openings are studied in two different areas of the main housing type of the building. The quantity of introduced/extracted air into/from the room and the generated airflow patterns are obtained. The modeling allows comparing the different openings configurations to determine the most appropriate ventilation option for every room.

Currently, coast is the target of all kinds of pressures. Due to that, it is necessary to study and research on methodologies to carry out an effective and sustainable management of a system with such a delicate and vulnerable balance. In this way this research work studies the research and projects carried out throughout the World, especially in the European Community to reach the conclusion that the combined use of three methodologies is the more adequate solution for littoral management. This conclusion is applied along the coast of Marbella, in Málaga (Spain) because of its special tourist, territorial, urbanity, physics and environmental circumstances. Once the work finished, a project of Law modification has begun its process at Parliament. New Law takes into consideration some of the results of this investigation, and document is incorporated as annex.

How can we measure ‘quality of life’? The sustainable refurbishment goes beyond strictly energy aspects. Sustainability indicators are needed to facilitate data collection and to provide information which does not require too time-consuming calculations. Thus, you can offer an idea of the extent and quality of the rehabilitation before starting the project and, also, the obtained results can be evaluated in an agile way after the refurbishment. From a list of social indicators gathered from different methods, sustainability assessment tools and International and European standards, three social indicators are proposed: Users Satisfaction, Participation Agreement and Quality of Life. This paper shows the development of Quality of Life social indicator, the more closely related to the main objectives of Researchand Development Project “Sustainable Refurbishment”: improving energy efficiency and wellbeing of users in existing residential buildings. Finally, this social indicator is applied to a real case study in Málaga (Spain).

This paper discusses some issues which arise in the dataflow analysis of constraint logic programming (CLP) languages. The basic technique applied is that of abstract interpretation. First, some types of optimizations possible in a number of CLP systems (including efficient parallelization) are presented and the information that has to be obtained at compile-time in order to be able to implement such optimizations is considered. Two approaches are then proposed and discussed for obtaining this information for a CLP program: one based on an analysis of a CLP metainterpreter using standard Prolog analysis tools, and a second one based on direct analysis of the CLP program. For the second approach an abstract domain which approximates groundness (also referred to as "definiteness") information (i.e. constraint to a single valué) and the related abstraction functions are presented.

This paper groups recent supply chain management research focused on organizational design and its software support. The classification encompasses criteria related to research methodology and content. Empirical studies from management science focus on network types and organizational fit. Novel planning algorithms and innovative coordination schemes are developed mostly in the field of operations research in order to propose new software features. Operations and production management realize cost-benefit analysis of IT software implementations. The success of software solutions for network coordination depends strongly on the fit of three dimensions: network configuration, coordination scheme and software functionality. This paper concludes with proposals for future research on unaddressed issues within and among the identified research streams.

Fast-fashion retailers and mass production dominate the fashion and apparel industry. Increased globalization, labor intensity and outsourcing to developing countries are fostering the interest in sustainability within the industry. There is a growth of a new movement attempting to offset the demand for fast fashion, "Slow Fashion" movement. Slow fashion is not time-based but quality-based approach in which designers, buyers, retailers and consumers are more aware of the impacts on workers, communities and ecosystems (Fletcher 2007). European Union has also some critical targets to reach by 2020. Spain, specifically, has to meet some requirements in terms of economy and sustainability. This exploratory study analyzed how slow fashion concept, precisely manufacturing locally, could improve economic development. Local manufacturing, its impact on economic development and the challenges of Spanish market are illustrated through a case study of one Spanish fashion brand, Saint Brissant.

ABSTRACT. The purpose of this Final Degree Project is the acoustic and electro-acoustic study of the musical “Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar” at Teatro Rialto in 2005 (Madrid, Spain). First of all, a brief review of its history is made, quoting its refurbishments and discussing the current situation of this enclosure. Later, the sound equipment of the show is analyzed through every different sound controls: FOH (Front Of House), monitors and wireless microphones. There is also an explanation about their principal functions and systems, as well as a description of the soundproof cabins. Then, the electro-acoustic systems are detailed and divided in the following parts: main system, boosters and delays, effects and monitors. The RMS software (Remote Monitoring System) is described too, since it gives relevant information of the systems operations in real time. Afterwards, equipment, procedures and results of the measurements are exposed, applying the UNE-EN ISO 3382-2/2008 regulation in order to obtain the reverberation time and background noise of the theatre. With the purpose of initialize the computer simulation, original plans are exported from AutoCad to EASE 4.4., where its modeling process is ended. Materials, audience areas, hearing points and electro-acoustic locations are assigned below. At the same time, reverberation time is tuned up using database materials of the software itself. Also, electro-acoustic systems of the enclosure are adjusted to get the equalization and pressure sound levels of the different frequencies. Once previous steps are finished, psycho-acoustic studies are made to check possible echoes and the precedence effect - using electronic delays -. Finally, intelligibility studies are detailed, where the Voice and Musical Clarities are justified: The Speech Intelligibility Index, the Loss of Consonants Articulation and the Talk Transmission Index. This Final Degree Project ends describing the budget and rent of the sound equipment and the final conclusions.
