The aim of the conference is to bring together academia and industry to discuss the safety of food packaging as well as the development of new food packaging materials, including active, intelligent and nano concepts. Bio-based materials will be also discussed due to be a growing area of food packaging. The aim was to evaluate whether it had a similar effect in a Portuguese sample and if low weight classes – low weight (LW <2500g), very low weight (VLW <1500g) and extremely low weight (ELW <1000g) – had statistically significant differences between them.
