Dislocated Subject and Otherness in Clarice Lispector's The Hour of the Star

This article refers to themes such as the displaced subject and the relationship with otherness in Clarice Lispector's The hour of the star (1977). Firstly, it will approach the issue of a deviant or dislocated subject according to a psychoanalytical perspective. The narrator Rodrigo S. M. puts himself in ther margins of his society and Macabéa is an excluded character par excellence. In addition to that, both are presented as off-centered subjects. Secondly, the relationship between the "I" and the "other" will be analyzed, especially concerning the conflictive relationship between Rodrigo S. M. and Macabéa in its ethical implications.

O presente artigo refere-se aos temas do sujeito deslocado e da relação com a alteridade em A hora da estrela (1977), de Clarice Lispector. Primeiramente, será abordada a questão do sujeito deslocado ou desviante, a partir de uma perspectiva que considera a psicanálise. O narrador Rodrigo S. M. coloca-se à margem de sua sociedade e Macabéa é uma personagem excluída por excelência. Ademais, ambos são apresentados como sujeitos descentrados. Posteriormente, analisarei a relação entre o “eu” e o “outro” no romance de Lispector, conforme desenvolvido no conflituoso relacionamento entre Rodrigo S. M. e Macabéa, procurando investigar suas implicações éticas.
