Transmissões na Bateria de Bocas de Fogo : Necessidades face a novas realidades

O presente estudo tem o objetivo de investigar a adequação das transmissões (meios, estrutura das redes e interoperabilidade) atualmente empregues nas Baterias de Bocas de Fogo (Btrbf), face aos novos requisitos operacionais, presentemente materializados na necessidade de emprego de Unidades de Escalão Pelotão (UEP), e dando resposta aos requisitos impostos pela implementação do Sistema Automático de Comando e Controlo (SACC) da Artilharia de Campanha (AC) Portuguesa, procurando desta forma identificar que alterações deverão ocorrer. Para alcançar o desiderato proposto, recorremos a entrevistas exploratórias, com uma amostra de cinco oficiais, de forma aprofundar e expandir o conhecimento sobre a temática em questão, usando posteriormente uma abordagem dedutiva, baseada nos resultados das entrevistas e em doutrina nacional e estrangeira, de forma a chegar a possíveis conclusões. Esta investigação centrou-se em três grandes temáticas: os novos requisitos no emprego da AC; o SACC e a problemática das comunicações; e o emprego de Pelotões de Bocas de Fogo (Pelbf), sendo que estas estão interligadas entre si na dimensão das redes e meios de comunicações. Estas temáticas foram abordadas com um raciocínio de forma descendente: partindo dos novos requisitos impostos à atuação da AC, passando pelas limitações do SACC e culminado com a identificação das redes e meios necessários para o emprego de Pelbf. Como principais conclusões deste estudo, apontamos a necessidade de resolução das incompatibilidades entre os componentes do sistema automático e o rádio tático PRC-525, podendo a solução passar pela atualização do próprio SACC, para um sistema compatível com o rádio português. Identificámos ainda a necessidade de introduzir uma nova rede, exclusiva da Btrbf, e adaptar algumas das existentes em função do nível de implementação do SACC. Estas redes implicam, diretamente, um reforço do número de meios rádio em certos órgãos da Btrbf.

The present study aims to investigate the level of compliance of communications (equipment, networks and their interoperability), currently used in the Field Artillery Cannon Battery (FACB), regarding the new operational needs, materialized in the employment of platoon-based units, while complying with the requirements imposed by the implementation of the Portuguese Field Artillery (FA) Automated Command and Control System (ACCS), aiming to identify possible changes that need to occur. To achieve this objective, we have resorted to exploratory interviews, with a sample of five officers, with the purpose to expand and deepen the knowledge regarding the main topic. After that we used a deductive approach, based on the results from the interviews and on national and foreign doctrine, as a mean to attain possible conclusions. This investigation was based on three main topics: the new requirements on the employment of the FA; the ACCS and the communications problematic; and the employment of Field Artillery Cannon Platoons (FACP), bearing in mind that these three topics are interconnected on the equipment and communication networks realm. These topics were approached on a top-down logic: starting in the new requirements imposed to the FA employment, going through the limitations of the ACCS, and culminating on the identification of the communications equipment and networks, required to employ FACP. As main conclusions of this study, we have pinpointed the need to solve the incompatibilities between some components of the ACCS and the PRC-525 tactical radio, being one possible solution, the upgrade of the current system to one fully compatible with the Portuguese radio. We have also identified the need to introduce a new network, solely for the internal use of the Battery, as well as the need to adapt some of the existing ones, depending on the level of implementation of the ACCS. These networks, directly imply the need of additional radio equipment on certain elements of the Battery.
